I know i shouldn't exactly raise unless I'm willing to call a 3bet (from a shorty at least) but i figure I'm not getting the odds hear given how tight villain is (2.9 3bet over 500 hands) and a shorter stack still in play thus making his shoving range even tighter ICMZier says i should call with 50% of hands hear which seems absurd to me unless i reading things incorrectly

Do we still like the raise then, obviously calling UTG+1, hoping to just steal the blinds or for the BB to check/fold to a flop cbet

PokerStars - $2.28+$0.22|1500/3000 Ante 300 NL - Holdem - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (UTG): 91,656
CO: 16,971 (VPIP: 13.89, PFR: 10.71, 3Bet Preflop: 8.33, Hands: 36)
BTN: 63,815 (VPIP: 38.10, PFR: 13.16, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 43)
SB: 29,650 (VPIP: 11.97, PFR: 9.13, 3Bet Preflop: 2.92, Hands: 493)
BB: 67,908 (VPIP: 15.01, PFR: 12.47, 3Bet Preflop: 3.62, Hands: 825)

5 players post ante of 300, SB posts SB 1,500, BB posts BB 3,000

Pre Flop: (pot: 6,000) Hero has 8 A

Hero raises to 6,000, fold, fold, SB raises to 29,350 and is all-in, fold, Hero ???

I think r/f is fine here. Unless he sees you as hyper aggro. you are utg and you are the big stack i dont think someone who has 2.9 3 bet perc on such a large sample would 3 bet you light here you are super dominated by his range.
Did you input his range here or let ICM izer do it. Because no software will like a r/f for 10bb effective. i know we are not crippled by losing this and we are 5 handed but i would adjust to this tight player and fold. ICM programme wont take into account having the big stack and ability to pressure the mid stacks.

Easy fold

12/9/3? Fold.

u could r/f it even if he had like 7,5bb i think...

Just started using Icmizer so it seems it depends on what 3bet range you give SB? When you say Icmizer says to call with 50% of hands, it wouldn't reflect the tight image of the SB but the 'everyday/optimal' range? Or from what you said you have already adjusted his range accordingly?

u gotta adjust his range accordingly, as your percieve it

I'd be happy to r/f here, unless he was to perceive you as super aggro....?

Still think that's a fold then though, 12/9/3 is just too tight to r/c A8o 5 handed.

Yeah but I'm asking if you put SB on the appropriate range would it still tell you to call with 50%?

A tight SB 3 betting an UTG open
