vs hands we'd like to open raise because of x?

It depends. 88 seems like a shove most of the time, QJs and AJo can go either way imo.

88 and sooted broadways i prefer a shove
AJ raise/ call..depends

no. of regs at table?

BB reads ... ie tight loose etc

all these can make a big difference

completely readless from UTG with ~15BB + antes

shove AJ (maybe raise / call, usually if there is a loose monkey at the table)

shove 88 (raise call is bad with 88 i think as you could get 2 overcards to often fold with the shove no point in inducing a race)

fold QJ(full ring to many to act after you meaning the possibility of taking it down preflop is greatly reduced, maybe if table was nitty i could see a raise / fold but with 15BB raise fold not so good)
