I didn't say you 'HAD' to provide proof. I was attempting to be proactive and suggested that you have a screenshot of your online bank statement with the debit transaction in case it was necessary to help speed the process along.
I don't think being proactive and suggesting you have information ready that will speed along the process is out of line.
