Well I guess we knew it was gonna happen sooner or later. Guess it just looks to be sooner. I'd feel much better if this story came from P5's since they're pretty much wrong about everything. Subject: Poker has been a pretty credible source over the last several months.

Tell them to speed the ****ing checks up if this is the case, have had a check as requested for near a month. Another for like 13 days
09-08-2011 , 01:09 PM
That is a problem. Seems like its going to be real hard for many to withdraw their balances. We don't know what's gonna be seized or when and it seems to take everyone over a month to get their checks (they don't even claim to be faster than that), usually closer to two from what I've seen. Add to that the fact that many people will try anyway, further bogging down the system.

Great...

hopefully itll just be skins that offer wires which afaik, lock doesn't do direct wires to bank accounts

that would seem to be the easiest to "target" imo

I think as long as Merge/Lock separate player's funds from company funds, we should be OK. Not sure how confident I am about merge doing that though.

they've had chances to confirm they are and never had..

We also need to rely on Merge intending to stay in business after this and thus having a reason to actually pay us back our money.

Yea they (lock) will do wires for players who have enough money on the site/are high enough vip's. I have a few friends who have received wires.

AFAIK there isn't any truth to this. I don't have any sources at the DOJ or anything though. Would seem weird that anyone would know about it ahead of time considering what happened with Stars/Tilt/Absolute, and I doubt the DOJ would leak this kind of info to a site, and if they did I would feel like they would do it to a site that gets A LOT more traffic.

I don't know anything you guys don't, but seems a little fishy to me. I'm operating under the assumption it's a rumor for now.

To the best of my knowledge no one from Lock gets wires from the US. The ONLY exceptions I've known of since BF were BBJ winners. That doesn't mean there aren't any I'm not aware of, but I've certainly tried to get some wires for higher stakes/high rake VIPs and have been unsuccessful in doing so.

Rizen can you say with any confidence IF this happens will players get paid the money they are owed?
09-08-2011 , 04:30 PM
If I didn't think they would, I wouldn't be in this position. I'm sure all the Tilt pros felt the same way (at least I hope most of them did, I wouldn't rep a company I didn't believe in). I don't know exactly what will happen but if I didn't believe in the people running Lock I wouldn't be out here talking with you all.

source looks fairly credible.

**** all our lives.

edit: although its kinda bizarre that this would be leaked in any way. there was no warning before black friday, and that was involving bigger companies with more players, more money, and more possible higher ups to hear something about it.

how exactly would anyone hear about this?

So the DOJ talks to subject poker directly? Confused...
09-08-2011 , 06:09 PM
And at the bottom of the article it states that DOJ would encourage the network to pay players back after seizing funds. Does that make sense?

Leaks are possible. It happens. I don't see how it is at all cognitively meaningful to point out that we didn't hear about BF before it happened. That's because there is some source leaking info this time, allegedly. Is this really hard to understand? It'll be nice if it turns out to be BS, but ruling it out because of these completely fallacious reasons is a mistake.

Thanks for your input, Rizen.

well $2,500 checks isnt gonna cut it for most of us considering how ridiculously long they are taking.....can we get bigger checks??

That should instill a lot of confidence in the player base. Sure I believe in Lock but hey I'm sure Tilt pros believed in Tilt and well you guys know what happened there......so who knows.....lol. Should have just left it at the first sentence IMO.

Honestly Rizen players would feel infinitely better if there was a direct confirmation that players funds are SEGREGATED.

Its cool, I wasn't talking about anyone in specific, just seemed as though a lot of people believed it was just absolutely ridiculous and impossible.
09-09-2011 , 02:32 PM
I agree Giraffs, but don't you think we would have gotten that confirmation if the funds truly were segregated? The question has been asked before.
