FAQ for Lock/Cake move on June 1st FAQ for Lock/Cake move on June 1st

05-17-2012 , 08:03 PM
Q: How will the move affect cashout times? Should I withdraw prior to the move or wait until after?
A: The Lock cashier is independent of both the Merge network and the Cake network and will operate the same after the move as before.

Q: Will I be able to use a HUD?
A: Yes. The Cake Network has allowed HUD use for several months now.

Q: Is there a MAC version of the Cake software?
A: Currently no. We are working on a MAC version and will have more information closer to the end of May. We are confident we will deliver a Mac client in time and if we dont we will have a solution for Mac users.

Q: Will Australians be able to play on the new network?
A: Yes.

Q: Will players from the banned US states (Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, New York, Washington DC) be able to play on the new network?
A: That is being looked at but hasn’t yet been decided.

Q: Will the MTT schedule be updated?
A: Yes, it will be completely revamped, and the Lockops promotion that had been cancelled by Merge will go forward this fall.

Q: How will I be able to update the software?
A: When you login for the first time after June 1, it will prompt you to update the software and the Revolution software will automatically install. Your cashier and dashboard will be the same as before and you will not need to make any changes.

Q: Will I be able to transfer money between skins on the new Revolution Network (e.g., Cake to Lock, or Lock to Intertops)
A: No, inter-skin transfers will not be allowed.

Q: Will the Cake poker room disappear?
A: No. We are taking over the Cake network and rebranding it the Revolution Network. The Cake Poker Room will remain as a skin on the Revolution Network.

Q: Will my VIP status from the month of May carry over into June?
A: Yes. There will be no reduction of value for existing players.

Q: What method of rake will Lock use on the new network?
A: We are adopting the dealt system used on the rest of the network, rather than the contributed system currently used by Merge.

Q: Will my VIP points earned in May carry over or will I need to cash them out before the changeover?
A: They will carry over and you can cash them out on the new network.

Q: Will my satellite coupons carry over?
A: Entry coupons will be converted to VIP points so you can cashout or purchase tournament entries on the new network.

Q: Will the money in my vault carry over to the new network?
A: Yes. The dashboard (where the vault lives) and the cashier are external to Merge and will move over with us as is. After you move, all your funds will still be there.

Q: Will my existing bonus transfer to the new network?
A: Yes. In addition, new and existing players will be eligible for our welcome bonus of 200% up to $2,000.

any plans on changing this? :-)

and right now i know that cake and ECP offer weekly rake races through affiliates. Will Lock be in those as well or will the rally for riches (which has a smaller prize pool :-)) stay?

It is quite obvious that Dealt is the FAR superior RB method than contributed - fish don't give a **** about rakeback, and the extra cash flow goes directly back to the players rather than the site. This in turn helps the site out because more tables run.

Let me know if you know of a site that has done better using contributed, relative to how the site did under the dealt method.

P.S. Cake is one of the fishiest sites left for USA players, and they have always used dealt method. So any argument that states it makes the site nitty doesn't work.

yeah please do this. I know u said that those with the same screenname on both networks will be asked to change their lock screenname next month but it wouldn't be fair for others not to get a chance to at least change their screennames once

I speculate that it's only a matter of time. They will stick with 'dealt' initially so that they can bring over the nits and establish a core player base. But eventually they will simply have no choice but to switch to contributed, to improve the quality of the games, which at some point will deteriorate to an unsustainable level. B/c of the increased RB rate, dealt RB method, and additional Rake Races/Chases, in time the games will be populated mostly by uber nits, creating an extremely unfriendly environment for the recreation players (the source of $$$ in the IP Eco system). Dealt-hand RB method is simply not-sustainable anymore in today's IP climate! And is one of the main reasons why the Cake network has been consistently losing traffic for the past two years. The other reason is obviously the unacceptable time frames for withdrawals.

Hey fellas

I'm new to the online poker community, and am interested in joining Lock Poker. I have been reading all over the forums as Lock changes to the Revolution Network. My question to Shane Rizen or anybody is this: Should I deposit on the site now, only accumulating VIP points and the 150 % deposit bonus up to $750? Or should I wait until June 1st to join the site? Basically will 36% rakeback be around for new players joining Lock after it becomes part of the Revolution Network ??

Thanks

Yeah thanks I already have a cake account. I was planning to do this later anyways. I'm almost certain nobody has my screenname

Will players from the banned US states (Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, New York, Washington DC) be able to play on the new network?
A: That is being looked at but hasn’t yet been decided.

I am from NY and I am able to currently play on Cake, will this change come june 1st?
05-18-2012 , 06:08 PM
I believe you mean Washington state, not DC?
05-18-2012 , 06:27 PM

I'm not an authority on this but my understanding is that there should be no change to your ability to play on Cake (the skin). The question is whether Lock (the skin) will accept players from the banned states after the move to the new network. There hasn't yet been a public pronouncement, though on the other thread, Tiledonk reported that he had a PM from Rizen (the Poker Room manager of Lock) saying that NY players would be able to open new accounts on the Revolution network, which is certainly a good sign for players from those states hoping to open new accounts. I can't imagine any reason why existing accounts on Cake (or Intertops) would see any change in status.

Correct there will be no change to existing players and the only state banned from signing up a new account when we launch will be Utah.

So to clarify, merge banned states such as NY will be able to sign up on lock once revolution launches?
05-19-2012 , 10:26 AM
Another point for the people with the questions about rakeback eligibility is rakeback really isn't as important as the VIP program as you will earn so much more by moving up through the VIP ranks with the top tier paying out a massive 55% overall.

I play on intertops, was banned by merge completely bc of drama w/ BCP verification and would like to know what this will do for my situation. I have an old account w/ no rakeback on lock that I haven't ever played on (and don't remember the name of). Will my intertops account change to my lock sn? Will I still have my intertops rakeback deal? Will it still be sn changes every so often? Sorry if this has been asked but I am just wondering the specifics of my situation. Thanks

The old account on lock will transfer over to the new network and be eligible for lock promos/rb probably. You will then have a new lock account on lock that you won't remember the name of Your intertops sn will remain, lock players have to change their sns if they conflict with the ones already on the cake network. Your intertops rakeback deal will change from 33% to 36%. It's been hinted that you will be able to change your sn on the new network, no specifics on timeframe for change though.
