Is that not an example of a casino trying to reach a new market share, and initially protecting them from the sharks?
I don't think that is a good example because it's catering to a specific group seperate from talent. Women aren't inherently worse at poker than men. The ladies-only is more like the casino employee only tournament to me. It's not restricted to them because they can't compete in open field tournaments, it's more of an appreciation thing.
If you'd used a new depositer freeroll as an example then i'd like it more. Although there will be some sharks even in that it is there to let new people get accustomed to a new site while being able to win some money for free.
Actually I think this would be something good for Lock to do. I said before that I think the Lock Lotto should be taken away and I think a daily $500 new depositor freeroll would be better. Lock is already spending $750/day on Lotto prizes that only benefit 3 people/day. Instead, they could do something to give extra money to new people, promote deposits, and actually save $250/day to do something else with (maybe another freeroll for everyone?). I have only ever gotten the lotto once so i may be biased but then again I would never play a freeroll and hopefully will never have to deposit on Lock again so I would get even less personal gain from the freeroll idea and I still think it would be infinitely better for the site.
