After receiving WU MTCN; Lock CANCELS transaction & DENIES me the uncollected funds After receiving WU MTCN; Lock CANCELS transaction & DENIES me the uncollected funds

03-13-2013 , 12:44 PM
I've attempted to go through Lock Support to rectify the situation. They have been of little to no help; so I am posting this.

Cliff Notes:

Received two MTCN #'s from Lock on 11/19/2012 and 11/25/2012.

Each amount between 1k - 2k.

I attempted to pick them up on 3/8/2013. Due to work-related travel, I was out of the State where the WU was sent from 12/2012 - 3/2013.

On 3/8/2013; at the WU location where I had successfully picked up half a dozen payments prior; I was informed both MTCN's did not exist.

Per Lock Support; they stated on 3/9/2013 that the reason for this is that WU funds must be picked-up within 25-30 days of the MTCN; and that this disclaimer was in the cashier. Further; they cannot return uncollected funds due to high risk.

I have multiple screen shots of the Lock Poker Cashier window. The 25-30 day disclaimer was not present until early March 2013.

In 2012; I received a WU MTCN in June; and was able to pick up funds in October (at the same WU location).

At no time between receiving either MTCN's was it disclosed nor had I been informed of this 'disclosure'. There were no conditions in place when I received each MTCN.

Further; Lock Cashier Support emails state that ' an undeliverable payout or stop payment request will incur a $250 fee.'

I believe that this condition should be in effect for my situation. I believe I should be returned the uncollected funds; less the $250 fee.

As of last night, the cashier window had a message under WU saying all withdrawls must be picked up within 25 days.

Ive sent this over to the cashier team to see what I can find out on this.

Thanks Shane.

Not that this is your fault or anything, but where were you that you couldn't find a Western Union to receive money at for 3 months?
03-13-2013 , 03:44 PM
you can't just pick it up at any WU. it has to go to the state listed in your account information afaik.

That seems to be the case based on what others have reported, but it seems like an odd policy.

What if I'm on vacation somewhere and have an emergency, can no one send me a WU?

You can request a specific WU after you deposit. Contact support right after you request your withdrawal and give them the specific store, address, etc...

I'm away from home for months at a time and I've used this process.

They can but they have to send it to a location and you have to pick it up at that specific location.

Yeah its his fault; he had at least a week prior to leaving in December for the second WU and 2 weeks for the first one. The delays in cash-outs were big time fire on these threads even back then, so what kinda moron after waiting a couple months for his money trusts WU to hold it for him for another month. I suspect the whole truth has yet to reveal itself. Or am I the only one on the planet who would find five minutes in two weeks to pick up my paycheck?

The thread title needs to be changed. OP did you ever think to say anything maybe in December that you were not going to be around?
03-14-2013 , 11:42 AM
No. It was unexpected. Not necessary to go into boring life details; but basically because I had successfully picked up a WU xfer previously; 4 months after receiving the MTCN; I did not think this would be an issue at all.

This is a Western Union thing, not a Lock policy. Something of which to be aware.

I had something with Minted where I was adjunct at a university in D.C. for a semester, but my mailing/billing was still in Illinois, so I had to pick up on a visit back home to Chicago once.

What happens if the money transferred is never received, though? Can the sender re-activate the transaction; or does he/she have to retrieve the funds and make a new transfer, therefore paying the fees again?

There is normally flexibility, for instance players often forget to update their address so we have to get the address changed on the WU for them to pick it up.

The timeframe of this is slightly different so we have had to reach out to the processor to find out exactly what happens with so much time passed.

Per my initial communication with lock support; 'they cannot return uncollected funds due to high risk'.

As of now; the funds originally withdrawn are neither available for pick-up nor in my lock cashier balance.

This issue is still being investigated however; I will provide updates as necessary.

Quick update:

Have not heard from Shane since 3/13 when he stated he sent my issue over to the cashier manager and CEO to investigate.

Sent a follow-up email to him on 3/20. Still no response.

because all 2p2 cares about is how much money they get paid. Bernie madoff could advertise with them.

Update:

Reached a reasonable compromise with Lock; and am satisfied.

Thank you Shane for following up on this issue.

I as am having a horrible experience with Lock Poker withdraw. I choose the WU option because they promised a 7-14 days cashout withdraw. Did it back in first week of Jan after day after day 3 months later barely got "verify" now waiting on my MTCN, been about 6 days now still waiting. Got an email from the cashier department telling me they cant give me a specific date when I will receive my MTCN but should be hear soon, but that's all I been hearing from this site now im worried. Am I going to be waiting another 3 month? extremely dissapointed
