Live 10/20 NLH. Effective stacks are $4500

Villan is an very good LAG player, capable of basically anything. Overbet shoves, overbet bluffs, thin value bets, he's pretty much got most of the moves in his playbook.

Villan gives me a lot of respect in general, and I've probably been playing a little tighter than usual today.

His raise is fairly standard, and is done with an extremlly wide range, so its nothing really out of the ordinary.

Thoughts on the Turn and River are what I'm looking for.


Folded to villan in middle position who min-raises to $40. I have AQo and re-raise to $160, Villan calls.

Flop is Q J 4 rainbow. Villan leads for $40, and I raise to $240. Villan calls.

Turn is the Qd, now putting two diamonds on the board. Villan leads for $300, and I flat call.

River is an offsuit 6, and Villan thinks for about 15 seconds and bets $1300.

Thoughts?

I'd raise here. It seems to me that he is trying to represent the Q himself or maybe he has one with a weaker kicker. Unless he has JAcks full then...too bad.

What hands could he call a raise with? KQ but It doesn't look like has has this as played. QJs looks plausible.

yeah i don't see many worse hands calling a raise here on the end. unless you have had some sick history with the guy

against this type of villain, does anyone think raising small on the turn to induce a reraise is a good play?

on river call>shove>fold. in all honesty, both a shove and fold are horribly bad.
on turn, i'd say reraise a normal player, but a call is a good decision against this player because he's a spewy lag who will likely bet big on the river

call>shove imo. If he's a very good LAG, he really can't call a shove with KQ or QT imo, and he can have flopped a set or possibly top 2.

It's tough to lay down KQ at that point, but I really don't see your getting value out of inferior hands.

Why can't villain have exactly JJ, QJ, QK, QT or 44 here as played, 2nd queen does not bother him at all, his weeny bet of $40 on the flop is weird but rest of hand is standard, I would just call here on river

but why did you not raise this turn, his 300$ into a $800 pot is very weird, make it a raise to $1k to go on turn and then if he calls your raise and fires the river there is a good chance you know he has a boat, as played a river shove is probably only getting called by better as much as that sucks
