New guy sits down at table never played with him before. He calls first hand he plays out of sb with a button strattle I have aj in mp and open to to 60 he is 3k deep I have him covered. Flop is 3d 4s 5h I bet 85 he raises to 225 I raise to 600. He calls after thinking for about 20 seconds. Turn is 2c he donk ships for 2300... Thoughts?

i'll bet he's not trying to bluff you off a chop

would like to hear more of why you chose to raise to 600 on flop and not more

I thought he was just making a move or seeing where he was at so figured smaller reraise would get a fold and leave me room on later streets. When he shipped I was really confused obv I didn't think he had a set but could have 5 6 and a donk might think he has to protect his hand. I think I call pretty quickly if it's like 1200 to me. I only had 600 committed so decided to fold. I think it's a call because a donk prob thinks I don't have 6x raising pre and 3betting flop.

I think a 6 is a v likely hand, esp if he has a pair- he raises flop to take it down w/o overs hitting and is not concered with getting small 3b, he gets value out of other 6s, builds a pot against an ace, it's unlikely he has a set or 2pr, and I doubt he's airballing even if the situation sets up nicely

A2?, 56, 67, he reraised on the flop while calling your pf.. probably had some trap connectors or something and hit a dream.

A2 is probably more likely imo.

He told me after the session was over he had 77. I kind of thought of some medium pair he might do this with but with no history what so ever it's a tough spot

Bad raise on flop. As played...tough but fold. Just not worth it to get back a lousy 700ish.
