On a serious note, what do you think is your biggest strength/weakness when it comes to poker?
In all seriousness, I think I've explained this before, but the whole gay/not gay thing (I'm straight) came from me being EXTREMELY amused by the following situation:

Person 1: You're gay.
Person 2: No I'm not, don't be a moron.
Person 1: hahaha listen to the gaywad.

OR...

Person 1: You're gay.
Person 2: Yep. I prefer penis.
Person 1: (...not sure how the f to respond to that...)

I mean, it doesn't make sense. Come on, person 1!!! What are you doing homes??? If it's worth making fun of, how can you not continue to go after the person once they admit they are in fact what you're laughing at them for being? You called them gay, they proudly agreed...and suddenly you don't know what to do? Why not??? Go on!!! Keep making fun of them, they've confirmed what you're berating them for!!!

So to me it reveals that Person 1 is just using it as a generic insult because of this expectation that gay = bad, which is a cool point, it reinforces that who gives a **** if person 2 were gay (and person 2 shouldn't care about the insinuation), which is a cool point, and it makes person 1 think about what if they actually were talking to a gay person and how they probably wouldn't talk like that, which is yet another cool point, and makes person 1 stop using "you're gay" as a go to insult because it has no effect whatsoever. Awesome.

And this might be a little self-important, but I honestly feel like the number of anti-gay comments has gone down since I've been pulling this shtick in such a visible position. The whole joke about changing the minority sexual orientation we make fun of to "pansexual" (sorry to my pansexual friends, and yes, I have some) helped make that point too. But obviously mostly it was just funny because it makes people really awkward which is always a great result. I do have a few good friends of various minority orientations, and have felt a lot of pain from them being persecuted for who they are back in high school, so it's something I have a lot of passion about. But I try to keep it lighthearted and not annoyingly politically correct.

And then everybody wondering about whether I was joking or not just really drove home the point of "who cares". It had no effect on how you should interpret my strategy posts or my videos or anything else we come to this site to do poker-wise.

I've always noticed with "macho" guys that once you show you don't care about being viewed as Mr. Alpha Male King of All Things Tough, then they all break down and start making jokes too, not needing to try to puff themselves up. This also is always a highly amusing process to me but oftentimes I tire of guys just because they can be unwilling to give this up even when everybody else already knows they aren't being themselves.

Are you a vegetarian?
And how old are you again?
What do you do with A2o 25bb deep vs: 50%/75% only 10 hands in and you have no idea about his calling range but villain isn't completely ******ed?

thanks for doing this, i'm really impressed by your videos.

my questions:
1) top 5 200$-1000$ regs?
2) let's say somebody berates you on chat and keeps rematching you, do you play him to kick his a$$ or look for a new opponent? (let's also say you dont have a significant edge over him)
3) what is your best video about superturbos on HUSNG.com? One you are proud of in terms of educational quality?
4) some common ST spots where ppl make mistakes a lot?
5) last one - is it possible to be a winning player at 1 level and a loosing one just a level above? (talking about 30$-60$, 60$-100$ 100$-200$ transitions not 2000$-5000$)

thanks for the answers

What do you do while FTP is closed? Play on other sites? Will trust and play again on FT if will be reopened?

I had my major BR at FT. I was a $55's hu sng's regular player when FT license was suspended(starting from $5's games) and poker was my main source of income. I didn't played a single hand after june 29th. What do you recommend me, start grinding on other site (ex.stars) from lower games or waiting to see what's gonna happen with FT?

Did you ever felt that your social life is affected by poker?

How much time was needed for you to jump from midstakes($50-$100's) to $300's+ games?

How many hours on average do you play per week?
07-13-2011 , 07:03 AM
I was obviously joking,hence the ";p",in case you thought i wasn't.
07-13-2011 , 07:09 AM
thank you for doing this and wish you good luck.
  • are you scared by other regs in the beginning because of her winnings/sharkscope stats? What would you advice someone with this problem?
  • What do you think about checking opponents on sharkscope? Would you recommend this for an one tabler?
07-13-2011 , 07:10 AM
hahaha awesome, when did you realize you liked men gets the longest response.

Also, badbeater777 was still around before FT imploded. Blows my mind that he still makes money.
07-13-2011 , 07:15 AM
Does live poker REALLY suck that bad after owning at HUSNG that you would rather get a job?

Or is this a BR issue
07-13-2011 , 07:30 AM
Haha at badbeater777, he was still around a few months ago, trash talking because I followed him around after he accidentally sat me (as far as I remember he was really nitty/transparent). Just when I was laying into him I disconnected and he blinded me down happily (obv). I got back on, had about 20 chips left, asked him if he would consider shipping something back and of course he told me to gtfo. Being a smart guy, I immediately spite sat him on 2 tables and of course disconnected again. That was probably the most tilted I've ever been in my life.
Anyway, long stories short, Barbra convinced him to send me back all 3 buyins on the condition I woudn't sit him again (thanks again bro). I'm guessing BB777 was more frightened of Barbra than he was of me, but I still felt gangster

Sick, well im looking forward too most. PT3 stats, please? I always find these to be interesting. Also, why do I suck at 20bbs now after BF. Everytime I jam Kxs over a minraise at 17-20bbs over like a 70% opener they have Ax. Am I washed up? Also, I plan on putting a ton of volume one week in at 50 hypers and getting a big sample and looking through PT for leak before hopefully smoothly transitioning back to midstakes. I'm not really sure exactly what I should be analyzing though. Any suggestions?

20bbs, how do you play each of these hands vs 70% opener... 75% opener.

t7o, k2s, k8s, 54s, 96o, q7s

Do you enter a game (both regs, turbos and supers) with a range for every possible situation and adjust them as you play or do you enter a game without standard ranges and look at every hand seperately?

How did you make the transition from being lazy at school to being hardworking at poker?

Quote:
Plenty of little aha moments here and there. The most global one is just realizing that a lot of people were discussing poker situations that don't really matter, and then valuing relatively unimportant things in those situations. I really tried to focus on realizing what's actually important in whether something's a call or a fold or a raise or whatever, and going from there.
Example of valuing the unimportant things in said situation?
What's really important in whether somethint's a fold, call or raise?

Thanks for doing this!

haha yeah that was fun.

Serious questions:
- do you see FTP reopening again? (just your opinion/view)
- Do you see yourself playing poker for your entire life? If not, for how long max?
- Howmany 5 year olds?
- Best player you ever encountered?
- Worst reg on High Stakes?

I just want to say that your awesome mers. I've always found you intriguing for your nerdy-coolness (if that makes sense). I've learnt a ton from your strat posts and videos, your easily top 3 of people I have learnt from in this forum. Wish you all the best in anything you endeavor to do and I'm really happy for you and your opportunity.

I'm sure I will have more questions as this well progresses but I'll throw a couple of lame ones at you straight up.

1. What is the worst you have ever tilted? What caused it? What ensued? (You always have the appearance of complete stability so I wanna hear about you smashing your keyboard or something!)

2. What do you think made the transition from reg speeds -> turbos -> ST's seem like such a breeze for you? I know this Q is whiffy, but you did it so damn successfully and I failed so miserably.

3. As a mod, who has been the most annoying poster you have come across?

4. Do you know you're the only person who has given me an infraction? FU!

5. I hate this question in wells it's super lame, but I'm gonna ask it anyways because I respect your opinion so damn much and won't get this chance often... What are your honest thoughts on my game? biggest weaknesses? (I know we haven't played that much, but probs enough for you to have an idea + vids and just general chit-chat I guess).

OK, I'lll be back later for more super lame questions!

1. Who did you got coaching from?
2. What format do you think works best to learn from? (in coaching i mean, like video yourelf or sweat session etc)
3. Who did you learn most from? (Not asking who was the best coach but what person you learned the most from, including pokerfriends and non friends maybe some poster or video maker)

go mers!
07-13-2011 , 09:11 AM
No questions but many thanks for all that you have done for the community. imho you made me the player I am now (i.e. one where 5 figure months are no longer a dream ), and despite the fact my coaching was paid for, I consider it a favour that you were happy to make such a wealth of information public to the poker community.

edit; and obv a WW game is nothing without mers

Why did you go FR cash -> HUSNG and not FR cash -> HU Cash?

How serious you are about this new job? Do you think if you kick some ass there it will help to increase the view of companies about this "poker school"?

You won $300K, wow! But... how much did you lose?

By the way, thanks for this and all you have done for the community.

Thanks a lot for doing this, I love wells. Also like the fact you spent so much time analysing gay-levelling.

After the first time you played superturbos do you think your regular/turbo game improved or became worse?
