small pairs are a fist pump jam. A2-A7 are flat calls readless.

Hi Mersenneary!

Let me first thank u for all the great videos and articles u made. They realy helped me a ton to move beyond 200$ and especially in reg wars (i would say the best video and articel fro me was about overbeting-it relay opened my eyes).

A few pages back u showed table whit what card to push AI 20bb deep if SB opens 70%. I think u said u have more of them. Do u give them to your students, or would u sell them?

Now to the questions...
When u coach 200$+ regs, what is your approach to find leaks in there game?
In your coaching session to u revel some stuff u dont in videos (beside student bad tendencies)?
Could u PM your skype address so we can talk some more regarding coaching (i know u dont know me, but i am HUSNG member and from time to time i have a chat with Ryan)?
Would u say that ST need more math skilled mind than turbos and regular HUSNG?

I wish u all the best!

I'm not taking on any more private coaching. Still in the process of figuring out August's fasttrack program. Yes, I share more tables and stuff with my students. Those will eventually be made public.

Have them tell me what they would do and their thought process. Correct what they would do and their thought process. Rinse, lather, repeat.

Just to be clear, you nickname was supposed to be mercenary right?

You don't look like you'd really be able to dance.

In all honesty, who's winning in a dance off, you or ThomasNY?

It's an intentionally bad pun with that and the mathematician Franklin Earl Mersenne.

Missed this one. This would be an example of a bad utilitarian calculation. I can save many more than two african children by not committing suicide.

Can you be a little more specific? That general question has been asked a lot already.

If you could make a choice that would improve overall "happiness" of this generation and the near following generations much more than any other possible choice but would "**** up" an almost imperceptible % of the overall "happiness" of the life of the 100º generation and all the following, which would amount to a much bigger hit on "happiness" over time, which one would you choose?

Seems super hypothetical to KNOW the effect of the action without being able to change that ever so long down the road, but if you go by all the assumptions you're making, then I wouldn't sacrifice the 100th generation for this generation, no.

I couldn't google any mathematician named Franklin Earl Mersenne. Could you clear this up? I am curious...

Oops! That's the one I meant. I'm such a terrible nerd. I read a story once where someone created a character named that and that's why I misremembered.

I'm sure ThomasNY would take it down.

lol at these questionn and answers.

ok i am a little drunk and extremely tired and a little depressed from running 100bi under ev. so this question might be even more ridiculous than my other one...

how do you value human life compared to animal life or even plant life or something that isn't considered life at all like a rock or a cloud?

is a human life more valuable than a dog's life? or a rat's? or a fly's? how about a leaf?

and what are the ratios? maybe you would kill 15 dogs to save one human baby? and maybe you would smash infinite rocks to save one fly because you are a rocksist who doesn't value rocks at all?
07-20-2011 , 01:27 AM
i may have asked you this before but if so i forgot your answer. it's something has bugged me for a long time though that's for sure.
what exactly was ur old avatar a picture of?! It's the one that you use on husng.com now. I've stared at that thing up close so many times and the best I have come up with is some sort of fancy pool table with lots of cues laying on it and a question mark in the bottom corner.

The value of life is a tricky thing to talk about. Most of my utilitarian philosophies are focused on pain and suffering and joy, but clearly life itself has value, too. I would not be a vegetarian if animals were killed in a way that minimized pain and suffering.

Yes, human > dog > rat > fly > leaf. The cruelty in killing is mostly in the denial of joy and happiness and the infliction of pain and suffering.

No idea the ratios, seems like more than 15 dogs though. I would not smash infinite rocks because I have better utilitarian things to do

In light of the discussion in the regs thread, what are your showdown and non-showdown winnings like in super turbos?

Any particular thoughts on sinking red lines?

I don't have all my hands on my HEM. I've actually never looked at showdown/non-showdown - I just went to try to dig around, and then saw that my EV adjusted winnings are apparently 1.9 million. Sooooo I'm not really sure what's going on but too tired to figure it out atm.

If your winrate is a problem, then sure, worry about sinking red lines. If it's not, it doesn't matter.

You are asking a guy who has had 3 relationships for relationship advice? Mers is smart but just like poker, understanding women takes practice.

Edit: - actually read advice and thought it was pretty good. Daaammmnnn you Mers!
