The other way to go at it is to make friends with people in these groups. Especially meeting them in person, those types of things go a very long way in situations like this.
Four your specific situation, it's turbos, it's a small group of people (it's a smaller playerbase as a whole compared to hypers) and it's easier for them to ignore anyone who just happens to inquire, I'm sure they don't want to get too friendly and give off the impression that lower stakes regs can join their group/get easy games as they move up. Get better and just attack some of them for awhile, they'll start talking sooner or later.
If that's too intimidating, take up another game type/play on another poker room.

I was hoping it was the way husng hypers used to be where you just play x amount of games vs the group and if you have x winrate you get in.
But I guess that you're right in that because of how small the player base is my only option is to just keep playing until they budge
