Playing a reg and first hand getting picked off on a 3 barrel bluff Playing a reg and first hand getting picked off on a 3 barrel bluff

Hey guys, I just moved up to 24s and have been mainly reg battling.

Is it safe to assume the first game I get looked up on my bluff with air that I just stop trying to bluff like that for a few games?

The meta games runs so deep with stuff like that, 3 barreling makes me a ton of money but I feel it really changes the dynamic if I don't adjust to him picking me off.

Your post isnt detailed enough to give a solid answer. Game format, board texture, game flow, stack sizes all play a part in coming up with a strategy.

Hard to give definite answers when it comes to gameflow and psychology but i feel like usually people are gonna be more likely to fold after they have just picked up on a bluf because blufcatching is mentally exhausting for the brain and people are happy that they already made a correct descision so theyll be more likely to take the easy way out next time in a close spot and fold.

Also if they call down a few times and you show valuehands every time they might also be a little more likely inclined to fold next time because they are afraid of making yet another incorrect descision.

The time when people are subconciously most likely to call imo (I now I am) is if they made like 3 tough blufcatch descisions in a short timespan and they decided to fold every time. Then the 4th time theyll be like *** it not again ahh he probably has it this time whatever i cant keep folding i call.

Another thing to watch out for is some opponents might try to randomize their bluffing frequencys and in doing so they in fact make it totally nonrandom because they will be for example more likely to make a bluf in a spot if they havent been bluffing in that spot for a while, and theyll be less likely to bluf the same spot 3 times in a row eventho they might get the correct bluffing hands in a spot so thats something to keep an eye out for as well.

Also i think people are little less likely to make creative blufs if they just won like a few big pots in a row esp if they got lucky because you feel less need to deserve the next pot.

If you have some long sessions versus regs you should try to analyize them afterwards and really break it down to see if/how gameflow altered your and your opponents descisions if you can rationalize the flow of the match and the way your opponents tend to think
