nice video, but there seems to be a pretty big delay in the audio compared to the video - at least on youtube.

BTW what is the status of EDVis? In one of your videos you mention that it is available for download at book publisher site, but I cannot find it?

yea I also noticed some of that when I was reviewing the vid. I think it's mostly because I have a habit of sort of mentally queuing up things I want to talk about and then talking about them without pausing the recording, but there might be some actual technical audio/video async issues there too. I'll try harder to avoid that in the future.

Thanks for the link.

I do have Slice and used it with one of the examples, but got different equity distribution graphs, so I wanted to compare results closely.

I thought Odd Oracle offers the same functionality or is it only for distributions on random boards?

The default in slice is next street equity graph but you can choose graph current street (tool--graph options), should be the same then. I dont think odds oracle have this function yet.

Yeah, I used the current street option. Have you tried replicating an example or using them side by side?

I had checked one example from the book before and it was the same, but trying out some random ranges now it looks a bit different, not sure why.

I tried to look into this, but it looks like this graphing option is only available in the non-free version of Slice, and the program is not even for sale anymore. Am I missing something?

No you are not. Unfortunately, this great program was discontinued and is no longer sold as far as I know. I will try to compare results from the two programs and PM you in case of discrepancies.

K, well simple cases should be easy to verify manually. For example, set Hero's range to three combos. Then the equity distribution should essentially be three plateaus of equal width whose y-values correspond to equities of each hand versus Villain's range which you can verify with PokerStove or whatnot.

I'm pretty sure the EDVis utility is correct. It looks like Slice does some kind of Monte Carlo simulations to generate its equities and graphs, so maybe it has some small errors due to that. Certain card removal issues could also be handled differently. Anyway, please do let me know of any discrepancies you see, and I'll check into them.

Hi Yaqh,

Great book. I'm looking forward to the 2nd volume. I'm also interested in the decision tree program. Do you have an approximate date for when it will be available? Will you the update on this thread when it become available? Thanks.

Will, if I can refer to you this way,

is there a difference in the content as a whole between your books, but with different front covers ?

Thanks !

P.S. If I can make a suggestion: Export graph would be a nice addition to the EDVis

Hey, sorry, must have missed this question when you first posted it.

I don't have any definite plans to release any more software at this point, but it could happen, and if it does I'll try to remember to bump this thread.

Hi Sektorr,

Are you asking about the red cover with cards on the front? No, that was just an old rough draft of the cover that we used for a couple promotional purposes before the final cover artwork was complete. No books were actually printed using that cover.

If you're asking about the book with the green cover, that's EHUNL: Volume 2! It's not out yet (end of this year is the current target), but it will contain tons of new info.

Cheers
