Because he sees his opportunity to win the match quickly if he hits his straight on the river with his 65 or K8. Have you never been a fish? To win against a fish you have to think like a fish, your not playing ivey here. Do you think he is calculating his pot odds and thinking of implied odds and fold equtiy? He sees the money, he sees his change to win the match, lets go for it..He not putting you on a range or anything. As played, snap fold. I would never call a cr on R against a fish without the nuts, not even if the board was 56789.

Bet-fold readless is good, you can get value from other two pairs & some Ax.

Bet size will depend on opponent and how much I think I can get paid by those hands.

ok, agree with you that i would bet the turn bigger (but 160-180), but your suggestion implies that he has the straight draw and only the straight draw. At the moment the hand is played on the turn you can't give him just this range. He can have a weak pair otf and the A could scare him, so even the biggest fish in the word would fold to a 6x pot size bet and most fish would even fold the straight draw there. So that's the reason this is really not the best play even against a bad player.

And for the river - of course fold as you said

It's not even top 2. Its TP & 4th pair. But even if it was top-2, I'd fold pretty quickly vs this 2x river c/r against most

Looks incredibly spewy. He'll fold a lot of hands we want to keep in, and might call with some we beat, but also with a made straight or a set. We really are too deep here to shove.
