what are the odds of getting dealt pocket pair vs pocket pair HU (not counting the same pair, 77 vs 77). Im running into alot of overpairs lately, just wondering.

getting dealt a pocket pair is a 1/17 shot, so having both players get a pocket pair on a random hand is roughly a 1/289 shot. if you know you have a pocket pair, the odds the other player also has a pocket pair is 1/17

odds PP for 1 person is ~5,9%

PP vs PP = 0.0588 * (74/1322) = 0,3291%

Edit: mine is with card removal effect.

card removal plays no role?

it does make villain with a PP slightly more likely (~1/16.8) but it's a tiny change

what is the difference between sharkscope ROI and HEM ROI again?
***HU SNG REGS THREAD*** Quote
08-21-2011 , 04:42 PM
iirc sharkscope is the average roi while hem is just total roi, with hem you could play 9 $10 games and lose them all and then win 1 $100 game and it would give you a positive roi, where as sharkscope would take the average roi from all your games so it would be negative

i doubt thats the case

mehhh **** going to have to sell some action because I'm a nit... planning on selling 50% action to EPT barcelona main event, thought I'd gauge the interest here? I'm thinking 10% markup since I've never played an live event before but I am decent at mtts... I hope someone can chime in and confirm that because my sample is quite small. You'll be able to look them up at officialpokerrankings.com though.

note: not 100% certain I'll go yet, I change my mind every single hour pretty much.

edit:
also hundrye I get the feeling you dislike me a lot please confirm/deny it makes me sad. wtb clever chat coaching

Same. Just take a day reading through strat posts, review some of your games and then take a day off not thinking at all about poker. Helps a tonne.

Alternately, man the **** up. Don't drastically alter your game, but move down a limit and think through every hand thoughroughly (I'm drunk /spell)

I dunno what the exact point I stopped my downswing spell, but I'm deff not making nuts hands every game, just winning more pots w/out tilting off on bluffs. Understanding fish more, how to exploit better I guess.

I wonder how many poker pros are actually very superstitious and have rituals they do to help them run better. The funny thing is it could actually be +EV if it gives you more confidence and helps with tilt.

Like there is some fundamental innate desire in the human brain to believe in superstitious things. It could be pleasing to your mind to believe such things.

Hello players, I'm new to this forum. I am the ALBIERIE of poker stars. I am a regular player of HU sng turbo for a long time. This month I switched to the hyper-turbo, I´m doing very well. I have 3,700 games and 220 buy-in of EV, 70% played at $60 and 30% at $ 30, just in this 20 days of august. But now I'm only playing $ 60. What would you like to ask you is about the variance. In the turbo, I have 22.000 games. I had never seen a variance so big that I'm having at the hyper-turbo. I was 100 buy-in below the EV. Now I have 60 buy-in below. But I had never seen this variance in my all 22K games at turbo. If someone can explain to me in hyper-turbo if the variance is actually larger?
good luck to you all

Of course Hyper Turbo variance is going to be a lot bigger...the best you can hope for in the long run is like what, 3% ROI? Swings are going to be insane.

Hey guys I've got a beginner question (but I figured I'd ask it here since this thread is visited more often).

I see people often mention the term "hands that play well postflop". I was wondering if someone could explain what this concept means and why certain hands play well postflop while others don't. Thanks.
