I am somewhat new to playing the STs, only been playing for the past half year or so, and yet have noticed the reglines getting longer. And yet, my winrate has increased, just as Primo's has been as pointed out by Mers and ChiRy, but this is, for me at least, has been due to my improvements at the game being faster than the rest of the field, so to speak. There is little doubt in my mind that if I went back in time to when the new STs first came out I would have a much better edge, and I am sure a lot of the regs would have to agree, and this has been true for more than just super turbos.
tbh, I think you can't argue that training sites aren't making games tougher, and the only response valid are:
"So what?"
and
"It's really not as big a deal as you think."
Both of which, despite wishing be part of a more elite group, I have to agree with. Games are def getting tougher, but imo good players can deal, and ChiRy and other coaches/coaching sites have the right to do whatever the hell they want.
Super Turbos, because of their nature -the sickness it requires for someone to grind them consistently- will probably be less reg infested than HU cash or reg speeds, but the effect is there, for sure.
The thing, Primo, is that even if your winrate is reduced by 35% or whatever, you'd still be making an obscene amount of money compared to the rest of the world, just sayin'.
I'm not sure there's a line in this post I agree with. There's a bit of everything - from arguing against the strawman of "videos have literally no effect for anyone" (congrats on disproving that!), all the way to telling Primo he should somehow take comfort in the GDP of Libya if I am actually taking 35% of his money away from him.
STs are something like ten months old now, and the general consensus nine months ago was that action would dry up somewhat quickly, infested by capable regs clogging the lobbies, and the "gold mine" would be over. I guessed this too. But here we are in 2011 and it's still 16colordeck, 6300 games at 2%, Serkules, 2300 games at 6%, PrimordialAA, 2000 games at 3% (hey look, another prop bet victory), and at some point I think the paranoid people have to realize these predictions turned out to be wrong, even as some of their worst fears have come true about what might speed the process up.
If you're damn good, you still crush at superturbos, and that's showing no signs of slowing down.
