I never rail HS MTTs, but when I do, it's to rail 0piggy.

I don't think people think poorly of Piggy's skill.

I mean, you could also say why don't people think Skai is as good as mrgr33n13. It's because gr33n has a few 100k more profit than Skai this year. That doesn't mean Skai isn't though of as the best (he's probably going to rank #2 if you do a poll, was #1 last year in that one poll).

I think Piggy would've been rated top 5 last year. Once you get outside the top 1 or 2 people in terms of profit, I think people tend to also think about players that don't necessarily rank 3-5th in profit, but they think are just super super good. I don't know if it's a fallacy or correct, but I've seen a lot of "#1 in profit, #2 in profit, really good player that isn't #3 in profit, really good player that isn't #3 or #4 in profit" from HS guys when they talk about who is best.

Also, be careful not to overvalue someone's results vs one player. Player A could be better than Player B head to head, but worse vs the field. Who is the better player? Depends how you define it. I'd define it as who makes the most money. It's basically every pro's goal, to make the most money long term, so we can use that for high stakes and it's as good of a metric as I can think of.

Though maybe Chadders constant hate for Piggy is giving some damage to the Piggy brand.
