Villain seems to play decently. He's done some weird things but nothing note-worthy. We're about 15 hands in and he's 3bet me twice. He's also donk-potted a similar flop to which I folded to. He plays pretty aggressively overall.

On the flop he check/raises. I dont know if the small betsizing means anything, but I assume he's capable of bluffing like this or have a lot of draws, I 3bet planning to CALL a shove. If you look at our equity vs. a reasonable shoving range, we're getting good odds (if you add more Tx, our equity shouldn't change that much). Do you prefer just calling the flop check/raise? I think you could do either one, but 3bet being slightly better because we are getting money in when our equity is pretty good, we can call a shove, we fold out his gutshots, Ax, etc., not that many turn cards improve our hand while a ton can improve his, and we have no idea of his turn bluffing tendencies.

When he calls, i want to say that this is a straight draw, with 87 being the most likely. With only a 1/2 PSB left is this a shove? But potentially we get our stack in with horrible equity if he does have a made hand. Not too sure what to do here.

The river completes the most obvious straight so i just fold, and he shoved after about 5 seconds fwiw. But, had the river bricked and he shoves, would you call?

Is the flop play spew?

What are your thoughts.

this is plain terrible

edit: i think bet/calling versus a float and a raise that small is not too horrible given villain is capable of bluffing, but bet/calling flop here cannot be good.

yeah dont understand this line. if u want to continue on the flop why not just flat with 2 overs and a gutter. turn is going to be easy to play whereas its going to be pretty awkward stacksizes for him with bluffs and value hands and he might end up giving u odds to draw or give u a chance to shove over a small bet if u think there are enough bluffs in his range

I dont think calling a c/r is an option since his range includes many hands that we're in really bad shape like JT;QJ;T9;87 obv sets, so I wouldnt be so excited about our overcards in which case we have 4 good outs, so just fold and move on. and I like 80 instead of 100 on the flop

Could you please explain your reasoning for this a bit? Why do you think 3betting on the flop is better than floating his c/r? Thanks

some people are just incapable of checkraising T8 or lower here, so he will have decent amount of straightdraws and we crush all of them (apart from KQ, that more people c/c with to begin with and wont call turn jams with)
