I guess I'd 3bet TT-QQ and AJ+ to 250-350 depending on how much he calls and which hand I exactly have. I'd shove 22-99 and maybe some Ax aswel if we get shallower and flat all broadways and some high suited connectors. Would be useful to have some postflop read though.
If he calls 3bets wide I'm obv 3betting KK and AA and some other broadways aswel.
I would flat the bottom of the top of my range and raise the top of it.
QJo is near the bottom of that range I'd say.
A better question to this problem is "how do I manage a player like this" ? People like to get too caught up with specific ranges, and I don't think they're very useful in HUSNGs.
Once stacks get nearer to 1100ish (if I've folded down to that point), I'll start shipping most Aces on the BB. I'll also be limping a ton on the SB to encourage him to calm down. Once the blinds go up, it's all gravy. He'll get punished even more for committing so much pre with weak hands and having to fold to shoves. If he calls, that's fine too. You'll be shipping for value against these people. Do NOT try and ship 78cc to be cute or something.
@Air-Bear: Not much post-flop reads of course, because we barely play any flops. But we can safely assume he donks and Cbets most flops, often overbetting.
@u cnat spel: Indeed, once we reach the point where his raise gets near 10% of effctive stacks, the play gets a lot easier, and we can punish him by shipping relatively wide. But it's the first couple of minutes that are most difficult. How do we avoid folding down until he has a 2-to-1 chiplead? I'm not very comfortable flatting a raise to 100 if I plan on playing fit-or-fold on the flop (and what else can we do if he's really LAG post as well?), and I'm not comfortable either shoving 15x his raise with some weak ace. So unless I get some really good cards, I often have difficulties against this style.
Note that I did not ask a question about the In-Position play against this villain, because their style OOP can often be different. Attacking limps / folding (not so much) / flatting too much (often) / Ridiculously big 3bets, etc, can be annoying sometimes, but are easier to handle than his In-Position play imo...
