imo do exactly what you said... practice lower down till you are comfortable. learning to two table is the easyest step, learning 3 and 4+ gets tougher and tougher. no doubt youll pick it up in no time

I also badly need to learn to play more than 1 table even though I am quite content 1 tabling in regard to comfort..like I don't get bored or anything..but I need more volume because I only get to play part time.

I think its a mental hurdle more than anything, once you get in there and do it you find out its not as hard as you imagined.

I play two tables of turbos everytime I play in hopes I will get used to it just like all multi-tabling.

I can play 40 tables of stacked sngs and 20 tables of 6-max cash (must be focused) so I wanted to be able to atleast two table with ease. One thing I have learned is that I can control the tempo of my own game. I don't have to let my oppenent control the tempo if he's quickly min raising every button and insta c-betting.

I am exacly like you, content with my game, i dont get bored and playing 1 table isnt stressfull at all, but know that 2 tabling will benefit myself because of the wasting time on lobby...( by saying this i mean that i am losing $/hour of work)

I have been thinking, I dont know if you guys will agree, but imo just giving some shots at 2 tabling wont work (at least to me), it is normal to human mind to get frustrated with small sample of games and the desire of getting back to the confort zone (1 table) is too intense and we quit exacly when we are starting to learn and than we get back to learning zero.

Soo concluding, again imo, to became a 2 tables player you will need a previous planning...Soo it is obvious for me that i will need to dedicate some time just for this, maybe a week would be enough but for comparison statistical purposes i will play just 2 tables for a month.

Now that i know what i need to do. I will just need to choose a month, and during this month, just play 2 tables and compare the the results with the ones i have now playing 1 table.I Think i will start in Jan 2011.

right now as i sayed before i play the 50 and 80$ normal speed, soo in the 2 tabling moth i think i should reduce the stacks i play, i think 30 and 50$ would be a good shot.

If anyone have another opinion about anything i sayed feel free to criticize.

When you are learning to multi are you?:

Stepping down in stakes?

What's your hud setup?

Do you think it is easier to do it on turbos or regular speeds? Especially FTP's turbos which are almost deep stacked superturbos?

It seems that hucash players play a lot more tables at once. Ok durrr. And they are deepstacked. Though they are playing the same person on a lot of them.

How come the sites now have rematch buttons but, they don't have a button that allows you to offer to play another match at same time with same opponent?

I have tried 2 tabling several times with mixed results. Right now I am playing micro regular 4 man on FTP and am doing very well. Will also add a regular speed to keep to tables going when ending watch.

I think you dont have to pick 1tabling or 2tabling, you can mix it up depending on your opponents and traffic. when you have like 5 people waiting at one limit opening one table in advance while you already have one game going is really different from opening 2 tables at once with no wait time. 2 tabling when you have a really straightforward fit or fold nit on one table is not a big deal at all, but 2 really aggro opponent will be much harder.

I personally open one table, and depending on the opponent, after 20ish hands, I either open another one or focus on my game with one guy.

I'm not too good at poker, and just at the 5s at the moment.
Omgadnowai on PokerStars, so you can see from the graph I'm not exactly an excessively winning player.

True enough. I *try* to keep 4 tables going, but I don't actually have 4 simultaneous games at the same time, unless I'm willing to play all turbos, and I still prefer non-turbos.

It's doesn't seem too difficult to keep at least 3 $55s going at once, but there's no way 3-tabling (or even 2-tabling consistently) $100s would happen.

I can two tables, sometimes, but what usually happens is I'm careful in the beginning, focused, no music w lyrics (and low volume if any at all)... hey i'm doing great!

fast forward 3 weeks and i'm 2tabling while watching a movie, talking on the phone, shaving a stray cat and plugging in a 2nd tv to watch a 2nd movie and wondering why i'm breakeven/down/determining my play based on the last hand of the match.

blinds are always constant in hu cash, I think this matters a lot. It's way harder to keep track of 3 different games with different stack sizes and blind levels than 3 tables of 100bb hucash.

i think 3tabling aint that much of a big deal.

i just was wondering to the people 3-4 tabling,do u play in sets or as soon as a game is over u open a new one?

how the hell could someone watch a movie while playing poker?
I'm pretty confortable playing 2 tables but i cant even think how i could play one table of micro husngs while watching a movie(unless its a stupid comedy or some grade B action movie where you don't really have to think about anything that happens in the film).

played 4 tables last week.
through the first set - 4-0 in my favor
the second set - 0-4 in favor of the opponents.

got certainly cons, but the pros makes it better for me doing it this way.

i mean poker is nice and all but at the end of the day i am always feeling kinda depressed if i only played poker without any entertainment.
thing is to choose some series documentations or movies you arent really interested in but dont bother if you have see them.
e.g. i watched eat pray love yesterday 2tabling. the movie is pretty lame, but while playing poker its okay. like watching the boardprogramm during a flight because you dont have anything better to do.
it really helps me not to get impatient.
also there is always a pause rewind function if the movie is too good or you missed something particular.

I was taking a look at my graph and noticed that when I was 1-tabling ROI% = 9 ... then as I started to 2-table I would start going on tilt from one table and start ignoring the other... no wonder i almost went busto

add that with roomate/dog distractions and it's definitely -EV.

you definitely need to be focused to 2-table effectively.

i used to 6-table, 6-max, but i only 1 table HU.

for me HU is so much about reading the player, player dynamics, and timing tells that they win me more than their share of games than gained from adding in another table and playing a little worse on both.
