busted the 1k today last hand before dinner, button opens to 600 with around 5k behind. He had been pretty loose so i shipped QJs from the BB for about 4.5k total, expecting to pick up the pot most times and if i dont im in ok shape against most hands. He had AK and i didnt hit.

busted the last $1500 level 9, had 23k when i opened to 1800 at 300/600 with A7 and the big blind fish shoved for 20k. Could tell he was so weak and didnt want a call. I called, he had KJ and hit. fml. Based on how awful he was and table history i think its a fine play just got raped by variance.

Just to let everyone know that im moving into the Rio for the week as my friends are going back to the UK tomorrow, so for everyone who is here in Vegas can come to collect winnings from all events excluding the main. Many people sent before Black Friday and Full Tilt shut down so i will PM everyone individually to see how they want to be paid. Cash is easiest for everyone as otherwise i would have to exchange $ into £ so i can put it online into $ again so there is probably going to be a small hit on the exchange rate (about 5% at todays rates).

We can either arrange to meet at the Rio any time during the week or you can come find me at my seat which i will post on twitter. There is a very small chance someone reading this could pretend to be you so you will need to PM me the day before to confirm where/when you want to meet. I have not stayed at the Rio before so not sure of the internet situation in the hotel room but will get internet access if i can.

we had 2 cashes this year, both in $1500 events:
http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=204094

Prizes:
$3,296
$3,741

Add the $1k unregistered for making day 2 with mark up:
$1,100

Total due back:
$8137

I busted a $1k on level 4 then the earliest bust for all the others was level 6, so annoying didn't produce a better bottom line result.

busted the main around 1400/6865. Mid position with around 130k behind opens to 3600 at 800/1600 300, hes been pretty active but seems to love the hero fold. The button with about 70k flats, hes pretty weak and gives up to most cbets. I call in SB with AQo with 105k behind, not looking to play a big pot at this point OOP. The megafish BB makes it 8k with 70k behind. We all call.
Flop comes A93hss.
I check, meagfish almost instajams 70k into 25k pot. MP tanks for a while and hero folds, button instafolds. He obv hasnt got two pair/set to shove 3x pot on fairly dry board. Thought possibly KK or AJ/A10, maybe KQs for the flush draw, didnt think AK shows up too much because the pre flop raise was so small. I tank for 5 mins and call, obviously he does have AK. Personally im never insta jamming there, with the MP behind betting any board if its checked to him so expected AK to check/raise.
About 15 mins later i open shove 35k from MP with JJ, BB has AK and hits on the river

I am now back in the UK, have had a slight problem with the currency. Went to change the funds back into £ so i can deposit and send to the relevant accounts, but my buy back plus rate in which i get the same rate i bought for apparently only lasts for 31 days. I left on the 13th June and returned 16th July- 33 days. I know, run %£$~%$£$ worse So I had to exchange at 1.8173 which means a slight reduction than planned for everyone- looks to be about ~12%.

Am now PMing everyone individually to see how they want to be paid. Need to deposit the cash then put it on Stars/moneybookers etc so should be about 10 days time to get all the funds out to investors.

Not really sure why you didn't settle up with your US backers before you left. Now you're saying we're responsible for the currency conversion, and there is no conceivable way for us to get our funds?

george- my phone went dead because i left my charger at the house when i moved into the Rio so i had no alarm after playing day 2A. It wasnt 4 hours anyway. I agreed to meet you on break so as not to disturb you whilst playing but you busted and left the Rio, i was there at break and tried to find you.

Veerob- i have already paid you in Vegas. To the others I said quite a few times i would be in the Rio for the week so they could contact me through phone/twitter/2+2 to arrange to meet me at any point. Im not sure why you are saying there is no conceivable way to get your funds, as individually i paid you (in fact i paid you more than i should have), and as a group i have PMed the remaining people on how they want to be paid this afternoon. I then posted in this thread the timeframe of when people will get paid. In fact, please could you quote the part where i say you wont get your funds? The only part i can find about getting funds i where i say im PMing people on how they want to be paid.

ok we had a meetup scheduled at noon at my table, here is a copy of the conversation we had via pm:

me: hey can you meet me at tbl 55 on tuesday at noon or thereabouts? thanks.
------------------------------------
you: Hi,

Yes that will be fine, see you then.

Thanks
Chris
-------------------------------------
you on the day we were supposed to meet, at 3pm: Hey,

Sorry i just woke up, i will meet u just as you go on break at around 4.20-4.30pm. I owe you $1508.

Thanks
-------------------------------------

so yeah i busted at 3:30pm so obv we never met but that was the whole reason i wanted you to come at noon in the first place. obv if i had known i was going to take a 12% hit i would have made a little more effort to meet u there but i didn't think it would be a big deal.

whatever though i don't care enough to make a big deal out of it (although i'm guessing some other people will).

I agree i should have met you at 12 as i said i would, and i know its not your fault my phone didnt work. Ive had about 4 hours total sleep since thursday morning and the currency exchanging tilted me, ive lost out too. I have work in the morning so ill have a good nights sleep and figure this out when i get back.

I'm terribly, terribly sorry. My records showed that you had never paid me, so I must not have updated my records because it was during the Main. Also didn't see you mark me as paid in the thread. My mistake.

Pretty sure all of us in Vegas would have put forth a lot more effort to meet up if we knew there was a 12% paycut for failing to do so...

perhaps you could add the 12% to the markup for people who invest next year, seems like a decent compromise.

Seeing as I've already gotten paid, I hope my $0.02 will count considering I've both bought and sold this summer.

Looking at both points, I think the fairest thing to do is to just chop the currency exchange loss between buyer/seller, so 6%. If I was the seller or the buyer, this is the compromise I would offer.

oh yeah, hadn't seen that, considering that it seems pretty straightforward that we should not lose 12% here...

The Thompsons buyback deal is only valid for upto £200 it would never have worked.
UK buyback rates are really bad value, the thought of someone exchanging a large amount of money at those rates horrifies me. If any of the money is left you should defo arrange some form of currency exchange with a twoplustwo member online.

Defo OPs mistake using holiday buyback rates on the cash. Should at the very least come out of the mark-up.

Ok finally got some sleep so can think a bit clearer now.

veerob- no problem, it was at the start of the main event day 2, your table was in the amazon room about half way up on the left hand side. I had a yellow hoodie on.

Lithium- yes your right, but feel its taken out of context. I wrote that in OP as i was unaware at the time the buyback was not valid by the time i came back. I assumed i could change at the same rate as i got it because i paid extra for the buyback.

Deco- no thats incorrect. Firstly, buyback is the best possible rate as i get exactly the same rate as i paid for it. If you can find me a link where you get back even better than the initial rate (assuming no change in market rates) then a link would be helpful. I could quit my job and start buying currency then selling it back for better than i got it for. Secondly, its not £200, its £2500 per transaction using travelex. This simply means i paid for the buyback admin fee 6 times ($30 total), still saving a huge amount.

Almost everyone sent to me online before i got to vegas, and i knew people would be there at the end so i could pay out in the event of winning a huge sum. There was never an issue of me having more currency to bring back than i went with.

This whole problem stems from the buyback rate expiring which i know is not anyones fault. Im pretty annoyed this happened and im not trying to angleshoot anyone here. I lost out from what i expected too. I find Veerobs solution of splitting the difference to be fairest here. I expected to get $1.6/£1, i actually got $1.81/£1 so the difference would be $1.70/£1 which is about 6%. Im going to PM George Lind III now to ask him what he considers fair for everyone and hopefully he will give a solution in this thread.
