Sorry for the bad news, but I busted Day 1. My table draw was amazing and the players were very bad.

I got Jacks 6 times and Tens 4 times, but never won once with them. Stuff like flop coming 8 high, donk pays off two streets with A8, river comes 8 and bets out 1k into a 7k pot. Easy game sir.

Another hand that shows the level of play: I raised preflop with KTs (75/150 level so I made it 350). SB and BB call. SB has 4k effective to start the hand.

Flop comes Js 6d 2s. Checks to me, pot is 1050, so I bet 500. SB calls. Turn comes 2c. Pot is 2050, SB has ~3200 left. He was the touristy type, so I thought that if I put him all in for his tournament life, he'd fold. I shove turn, he calls with Tens. Yes, he flatted pre flop with Tens with his stack, then check called all in over two streets. Although he technically made the 'right' call vs my exact hand (but crushed by my range IMO), I thought the play was horrible.

Anywho, I managed to keep my stack afloat despite not able to win a showdown pot. Most players at the table weren't used to getting 3-bet and didn't know how to play at all post flop. The frustrating thing would be I'd win chips from 30k starting stack to 35-40k, then lose a pot, then win a pot - back and forth. I just couldn't get over the hump.

At the 150/300/25 level, I had Aces on the button. UTG opens, +1 calls, I 3 bet, UTG folds, +1 calls. Flop comes Q62, two spades (queen was a spade, so that removes hand combos with top pair + flush draw), and villain bets out pot. Yes, he open pots it. I flat. Turn comes an offsuit 4, and he pots it again. If I called, I'd have roughly a pot sized bet left on the river, so I opt to jam. He happily calls with KQ, rivers the Q. GG.

Its disappointing to bust these things on Day 1, as I always feel the only way possible is to get heavily coolered constantly. There are so many great spots to chip up in these things, and busting this tourney put me on mini-tilt, as I always have high expectations for myself. Anyway, thanks for the investment and support.

I'm not sure if this is my place or if I am out of line but I feel it is only fair to tell investors and potential future investors that the player did not have kq when busting him he actually had 22 for a flopped set.

I don't understand the motivation to lie since it seemed pretty standard to go broke with AA in this spot even vs the flopped set.

I pmed the bobo fett and he never responded but I think it's the right thing to do to say this

In the aa bustout hand, why are the blind levels even relevant if that's the way you describe the hand? It's not exactly how I expect a good player to recall a hh, even tho it's close and obv u could be tilted having just bust etc

GoStateGo, since you were at the table, you can 100% confirm the player who busted him had 22 for a flopped set?

I want to think he got confused, as I don't see why someone would lie about a bustout hand (unless they were fishing and lost?) but with AA I don't see it here. However the HH seemed relatively detailed and is no where close to what happened apparently. Def seems relavent for an explanation IMO.

i wouldnt have publicly posted this if it wasnt him. hendonmobbed him and id be shocked if it wasnt. i was in the arena for the 50k final table sweating for a few minutes during a break during last WSOP so I had an idea of who he was/what he looked like.

I mean yeah besides the fact that calling the turn is much better than shoving the turn (lol strat in marketplace), it is pretttttty absurd that Owais felt the need to lie about this hand... makes you wonder how often this is happening in this forum.
