Up to 12.2 from 10k start on first hand, got 2 streets with a 2nd nut flush
Down to 10k, barreled a river with air and got raised by some sort of slowplayed nuts I assume and folded
Up to 12 again, got value with a non nut FH
Carddead for a few levels, 9k
Peeled a strong draw, got there, shipped river when checked to for 80% pot or so, got a fold. Back to 15ish. Chipped up slowly to 22k winning small pots, then let Van Marcus get there when i checkcalled flatted AAxx 3x on 553Kx with 3rd diamond on river, he hit a backdoor flush, with our meta he was barreling 3 streets always there imo regardless of river card, could have crcalled turn but thats pretty awkward if he just has a five (which is rare given he opened EP). Back to 15k or so.
Hung around 15-20k region carddead for another couple levels occasionally winning or losing pots with cbets etc. 47 left out of 223, I get QQ77 one suit w/ 16.8bb, bad limpfolder type guy limps, i'm CO and BTN is active so very hard to limp behind as BTN will iso wide, then be committed to call if I jam, so I 4.5x it intended to get it in on most non awful boards (other option is fold pre I guess but that seems weak), btn tanks then flats, limper also flats (he's limpcalled and limpfolded about half the time on his limps). K33 board, and I have ~90% pot behind. Pretty awkward I guess, but I figure the overcaller is more JTT9 J976 5678 QJT7 etc than stuff that is ahead and can call (not sure what he does with hands like KJT8 to a jam there) and I look enough like aces and of course limper can have any4 so I ship it in. Again close between that and checkfold but I figure it's an okay spot. Overcaller BTN has KKxx and gg.
So brutal today, grinded a sub 15 bb stack for hours, never being AI and covered at two tough tables with regs to my left (vanessa selbst at the second table), then win a race TT<AJ, run up an average stack nearing the money and then had a ridiculous spot vs a megafish where i 3bet AJ btn vs co, he flats, flop is A73, he checks i bet 6900 into 15k or so, he makes it 20k, I jam for about 40k and he SNAPS with... 64o for six high and a gutshot. Turn 5 obviously, but it gives me a flush draw, which i then promptly brick. Instead of having 2x average with 20% of the field left, nope gg. On the plus side, I played the best day of live poker ive played in a long time probably, I was totally card dead for hours, took the spots I could to stay alive, only had to win one flip and if i'd held there on the 88/12ish spot i'm itm with a reasonable stack almost all the time.
Always tomorrow I guess and while i'm used to running bad in key spots live, today stung pretty hard since I really felt like I was going to make a run at it when I got back to the average after having 7-12bb for about 5 hours
prizepool is 110k up top then *(approx) 75 54 43 32 21 15 10 10 or thereabouts
i may chop 3-4 handed if its me tollgate and competent players left, if its bad players ill play it out, if i deal ill make sure i get any deal in writing etc or have the other players confirm the deal on my twitter etc
2 good regs left other than me neil channing (good reg being iffy given i saw him defend 43o from the bb vs an utg raiser but hes prob 3rd best player left) and tom tollgate grigg who is the best player in the entire field (and imo the best mtter in the world right now) but i did well against him yesterday. i'm the 2nd best player left in the field imo, and with some rungood and good play hopefully i can take down tollgate who is cl and is basically the final boss
