Due to what I suspect is the UIGEA you may have trouble depositing from a USD account into Stars/Tilt. It is still worth getting the USD account though, and use a company like OANDA to exchange the money into £ ($20 fee, very very good rate, like <0.5% vig) and then deposit onto stars/tilt (or am sure some people would be happy to take £ via bank xfer).

Obviously try just getting money straight onto stars/tilt first but I just tried from my citibank account and neither worked.

Just to update everyone. I went into my main bank (hsbc) they want 1% on any cash deposits.. then i would have to convert using OANDA. so that would be around 1.5-2% total once i pay the $20 fees and vig etc.

I can setup a citibank account but this means travelling 6hrs door-to-door to London so i dont have to pay the 1%.

I rang another bank (Natwest) they told me they dont have the 1% charge. I am going to the branch in the morning to check this out since they are now closed. Hopefully can get this all converted up for <1% total with them.

Should anyone be coming over from the US and want the cash in $$$'s for Aug/Sept when the EPT/EPO/WSOPE are on this will also be fine.

Will try and have more news tomorrow.

Yeh. the guy said the charge wasn't up to him and just a fixed flat rate. unless i deposit >$1mil they wont move it!

Updates:

Went to Natwest bank today fee is 0.5% on USD Cash deposits. I have decided this is the best rate im going to get other than taking a full day off to go to London to open a Citi bank account and incurring charges to get there and back.

I am going to convert using either -

HiFX or OANDA. Both seems to cost <1%. I cant get an exact rate until I open an account so I'll open one with both and see whats best.

Timescale:

Natwest account will be ready Thurs/Fri. 2-5 days to send money to HiFX/OANDA, 2-5 days to be in my GBP current account. Everyone will be paid in full no later than 1st week of Aug.

Hi, as stated in other thread I'd like 31% of package 1 so you need to deduct a bit more.

If Natwest give you a debit card it would be worth trying to deposit that way first I guess

Yes. I have been emailing Pokerstars to see if USD accounts are allowed to deposit... they are currently claiming that they can. I will defo try it first.

I am trying to get my limits upped also. Since currently they are ~$4k/week on both FTP/Stars.

EDIT: Ah looks like I can use the "Local bank transfer" method and deposit directly from there. I will give this a go as soon as the Natwest account is ready.

ya if you just max out your transfers on stars, and then email them they will almost always increase your limits.

Rang the bank today to see whats happening unfortunately this account won't be ready until monday/tuesday now. Still hope to be paying out everyone by the end of the week.

Pof also takes 45% of this package and is now due $3416.15 - $981.46 - $831.6 (UKIPT 45%) = $1603.09

Yes well the account has been setup today but until i get a USD paying in book through the post I can't deposit the money (funny how they didnt mention this at the time!). I am meant to be moving to London tomorrow... I might just go to Citi bank now. I am trying my best people... sorry it is taking so long but its out of my control.
