I really dig the new color coding scheme you devised, although I think those of us that don't qualify to be blue or orange should be another color, like purple. According to color psychology, purple is the color of the imagination. It can be creative and individual or immature and impractical. If not purple, then brown, which relates to security, protection, wealth, and is one of the more modest colors found in the spectrum.

This is great news for us investors. Word of caution though...I once devised a similar formula and found that when I put it into practice, I was busting tourneys left and right, well before the money. Turns out I made a rounding error, so double check your math!!

Thanks for the WL. I'm not going to add any more colours just yet as I want to keep it more to actual poker playing related connections.

The system/technique to help me get through large fields has its basis in maths but will not affect how I play any hands, it is just an extra thing to bolster my overall mind set in a long tournament, a bit like a few extra supporting screws in an assembled piece of furniture.

Fair enough. Should you change your mind, keep the color scheme I proposed in mind, I think it could provide some unintended benefits to the package.

More support on furniture is always a good thing, no doubt.

I buy most of my furniture from IKEA and assemble it myself. I never understood why the little tool/wrench they give you is so small--it causes my knuckles to bump and scrape against the wood and I can't get proper leverage to tighten my screws and dowels. And if I ever do get it all together, I generally step back and realize I put one ****ing piece on backwards and have to disassemble and do it over again.

In those cases extra supporting screws are a pain in the ass.

I always end up with a few components left at the end after full assembly and there is usually one side of the completed unit that I have somehow managed to fix on upside down.

Before you posted I was going to have a third colour for investors who I have not played or discussed poker with but whom I have communicated with a fair bit on Twitter with so would know my personality as much as anything. One person who would have got that colour is Cerebral, who I have exchanged a few Tweets and Twitter direct messages with.

But on balance it is probably best to keep just to colour coding on pure poker matters because the main reason for it is so that investors can get a feel for whom other investor support is coming from.

I do fully appreciate that there is a sweat value element for investors and I will be doing my ultimate to provide this by going as deep as I can in all comps, and who knows if I go really deep could be on a live web cast of a FT.

I will be Tweeting live updates, writing tournament reports (without free coaching this time) and an overall trip report, all of which is some added value for investors, but the colour coding is more of a pure business indicator for investors and may indeed have encouraged some on the WL to join when they saw that fellow players have put their faith in me and rate my game.

Thank you though for the other colour coding suggestions as I welcome all feed back, ideas and comments because I want to do the best I can and play as well as I can for all investors as well as for myself.

Many, many of course, with the inference by you I guess that my poker hourly rate if I achieve one will be smashed downwards a lot by time spent posting on forums, as well as by the usual admin time it takes to run a package for investors.

The thing is that I am not a full time poker player, I have been, but I am not now.

I do take every tournament deadly seriously and strive to play each hand optimally, but I am officially now a "recreational player".

I enjoy writing and I enjoy having a team of investors as it focuses my mind.

So for the time being I will continue to put a lot of time and effort into investment packages, tournament reports and trip reports.

Maybe in time I can achieve some bigger success and then I could start a thread, like some do saying.........

I am pretty sure that this is a make up deal. As I understand it a make up deal is what I have here but it can also be described as a staking deal. I think the name and description varies based on one's interpretation and also on things such as how long a deal lasts for and some other factors.

If my offer, which is clearly described in my OP, including several actual payout scenarios, is not a make up deal in it's purest sense, then I apologise for any minor misdescription.

But I feel that what I have offered and people have invested in is clear cut in so far as that I will not see any share of profits before investors' buy ins are paid back first to them.

It certainly isn't a standard mark up deal and the bottom line is whether it is a good deal and a good investment or not, and a number of people think it is, including people now adding themselves to a waiting list.

Fact is that people are generally not exactly log-normal who play poker. When I played live cash games full time I was one of the more normal people, 85% of players were pretty abnormal, some of them to an extreme degree.

yw.. as to your first point in general I recommend all investors research a potential stakee as much as possible including last 20 posts at minimum at the very least to gauge a potential investors "most recent POVs" or mind frame in general...

How stakeback differs from makeup

Unlike stakeback, makeup is an agreement where win or lose the player must repay his or her investors their initial stake. With stakeback if a player was given $5,000 and finished the stake with just $2,000 all of that money would go back to the investors; makeup would require the player to return the $2,000 to the investors AND the player would still owe them a further $3,000 in the future.
