Live adjustments ftw apparently ... tyty! Felt great to make a run in this thing, feel like I have really improved my live game and I think it showed in this trny. The 17 hr drive was worth it.

The chop I ended up getting was for $61,380, but -$5k (so $56,380) because of a deal I made with the player who got 7th (Tom). We both had 8 bigs after my 1010 lost to his A7... and 18.5k was for 6th so we made a deal which was whoever got 7th would get paid 5k from person who placed. I think I got a ton of equity from this deal cuz a min. cash is 3.5x trny buy-in.

Also, one last thing I wanted to point out... I got told by the manager at the cage that all the taxes for this trny are being reported to the government under my name, so I would have to be the one that pays them. He gave me the option to take them out right away, but I declined. I am going to talk to a CPA and figure out what is the best route to go, whether to take out taxes or if there is anything else I can do so you guys could just report it. Anyway, i'll obv let you know after I talk to him.

gj boss.. as for taxes i've talked to my cpa about this before.. she says bank wire everyone their money and have everyone report/do their own taxes

Well since taxes are paid based on yearly profits you can either bank wire the monies or just ship online and say you lost that amount.

My dad is a CPA and I don't think we even worried about it when I had to ship some monies around on a wsop cash (15% of a 30k cash). On the other hand, maybe he just did something on the return while letting me go about my ignorant ways, I'll ask him tomorrow.

In this thread noctus and GoldenBears said that it is possible to recieve full amount and pay taxes in my home country. Can we do this in our case?

Here is an idea which I think will be easiest for Steve and may work for all of us. I may be missing something but here it goes:

Steve takes the 57k and deposits in online. Then transfers everyone their particular percentages w/o taxes taken out. This covers Steve for the 57k, plus allows us all to pay taxes on whatever we take offline. I know I'm down a decent amount buying pieces so to have money withheld is kind of beat, but, Steve in no way should accountable for this. Does this sound feasible?

I would prefer the situation that bbbb33 is talking about, the only thing I'm worried about is that the government will just charge me for the taxes for that 57k, the cage guy made it sound like it would go on my name no matter what. I'm gonna talk to a CPA tomorrow morning and get a professional op.

Day 1 was quite weird. I started off semi-well, then got down to 6.5k after calling down with a weak top pair Gavin Smith who had been just barrelling at almost every pot... Pwned him in a few pots and some others at my table, got back up to 45ish.

With 7 hands left in the day at 150/300 ante 25... Russian opens UTG to 900, gavin flats in mid pos... I have KK in the SB and have been not playing many hands this hour. People love flatting 3-bets so I make my sizing quite large and raise to 3800. Russian folds and Gavin calls for about 1/5-1/6 of his stack, don't remember exact #. Flop is J64, I lead for 6k, Gavin shoves for I think like 18k total or somethin. I don't remember exact #, and my first thought was he had a set prob JJ... but obv I can't fold at this point. I call, he has 66 and i'm down to 9k. I double up off Erik Siedel JJ < AQ... Now at 19.5k.

My table had a lot of "live pros"... John Duthie, Gavin Smith, Nick Schulman, Erik Siedel... but we redraw for day 2. Feel like I played well today, but that last Gavin Smith pot with KK destroyed me. Sick set mine bruuuuh!

I busted early day 2, i'll post the hand I busted on... I'll post/send all the monies out this weekend... I'm basically going to give two options after talking to the CPA. They'll be between getting 22-23% of profits taken out when I send back online or I would get your tax information down and mail a W-9 to you in the beginning of 2011 and send you the full amount (so you'd deal with the taxes later). I'll explain more though tomorrow when I post/get home, just stopping at a hotel on my way home atm.. Thanks for the support guys!

So, thank you everyone for investing in me! It was a great experience to go to Foxwoods and play and I feel like I have progressed a lot on my live game. I plan on selling shares for the Bellagio Five Diamond Classic in Dec. also so look out for those.

So, for the monies... here are the options I am going to give in regards to taxes.

1. Can simply send you money online and deduct 22-23% from the profits for taxes (If it's strongly preferred I can send a money order, but since I swapped most of it for online money this would likely take a couple weeks..)
2. Can write down your tax information confidentially (social, first and last name, mailing address), pay you in full online as soon as I receive this information and I will mail you the proper tax form in Jan 2011 which you will be responsible for taking care of by April 2011

I talked to a CPA about this and these are the options he gave me, the whole tax thing has been quite a hassle and I'm trying to be as flexible as I can with it.
