Hey guys and gals! This year, I am doing the series by the seat of my pants. I will have to sell to the larger events, and I am in the process of figuring out what exactly I will do for those, which will also depend slightly on how I run in the next couple of weeks. Rather than clog up the forum with a bunch of different threads, I think I'll just bump this thread on a tourney-to-tourney basis when I have action available. I'll make a post in the next couple of days sketching out the big-buyin tourneys I am certainly playing, like the 10k NLSD and the 50k 10game.

However, I wouldn't come to you fine ladies and gentlemen with a thread devoid of action. I am also auctioning small percentages to small events as a fun experiment that also slightly reduces my variance.

Today's auction is for WSOP Event 12, the 1500 6max. I will be auctioning off 10% of this tournament.

I already kicked off this auction on my twitter, @DMBakes , I think I want to use twitter as the main medium rather than 2p2 as I am trying to make this a bit more widespread. If you have a twitter account, I ask you to do your bidding there if possible, just to keep it a bit easier for me. However, if you don't, you can follow the bidding just by watching my account and bidding on here, I will also be in here to update the bidding periodically so it should be possible to follow in both places.

Other rules are as follows

-Bidding stops at 1130am PST, one bid/person after 11am
-Bid in $ amount and $10 increments

I'm sure I forgot something, but I expect people to be fair and reasonable with one another and the process, what could go wrong? Let's have some fun

Oh almost forgot to mention, there have already been two bids, timex for $170 and he was upped by fakelogic for $180, who currently sits in the driver's seat.

Later y'all! I'll be back!

Some people on twitter were bidding on Stars, this auction will be open in PokerStars money as well because I didn't specify payment options at the start, so get in your Stars bids if that's a thing. Right now @luriCaixeta has the high bid with $250.

current leader

As stated in the OP, I will try to keep this updated with Twitter, I expect twitter to have more reach and be quicker / more updated in general, but nothing says you can't just like read along on Twitter and bid here, or just wait here for me to update

Someone just made a bid on twitter and wanted to bid on the condition that they could also buy the same piece in the second flight if I busted. That seems like a fun thing to do so I am extending that offer to the winner of the bidding.

tbh i think auctions should be standard for people selling individual tournaments

this would do a few things:

1) make the environment less predatory; instead of seller "setting the market" the buyer sets the market (unless of course someone invented a 2p2 account to drive up the bidding for their own package)

2) make everyone see that the marketplace sorta is what it is, a place where the investments aren't amazing but there's fun gamb00L

what's the biggest tournament you plan on auctioning?

I'm not really sure, for the bigger ones I have to sell bigger pieces, this makes it easy because I am taking 100% of myself regardless

I have to think about it a bit

Don't want to clog Bakes' thread too much but just wanted to say I would agree with your logic except that #2 won't come into fruition just because auctions become the norm. Investors who fall for predatory offerings (whether intentional or unintentional) right now will still fall for inflated auction prices. It's fine for highly respected guys (like Bakes/Timex) to do auctions, but for most others, I think MU is superior since it's much easier to critique/reject what a player is selling by ppl more in the know (ie internal regulation helping MP) vs what a buyer is selling (ie scaring off future investments hurting MP).

350, will you take paypal or something else?

Sorry I can't take PayPal, maybe for next auction I will have it set up. This closes in 2 hours, no duplicate bids after 11

Not that I am egotistical enough to think there are reams of people waiting to snipe, but the tourney actually started 5 min ago, I am en route, but the auction time is going to end as soon as I reg in like 15 min. I'll tweet and that will be the end of it. Also giving a small break because I won't play all the hands.

Posting this here as well just for completeness, Matt Salsberg is currently in the lead at $330
