I'm looking to sell 70-80% of myself in the WSOP $1500 shootout, this Wednesday June 8th. My name is Darren Maroni. I am a U.S. player & used to play primarily STTs on Pokerstars with the screenname live@pompeii. I plan to move out of the US next year to grind for Supernova Elite.

I am very comfortable with live play, particularly the winner-take-all STT format found in the WSOP shootout. I am a well-rounded tournament player who is great with live reads, understanding/managing my image, & I have a very sound mathematical understanding of the game. I can play a deep stack & short stack excellently in any tournament setting & the shootout format is my favorite.

Below is a graph of my play last year in the Rio single table satellites with buy-ins from $275 to $1k, where I had an overall ROI of 98% (plz don't come clog up my games! lol, results not typical )

In my first WSOP last year I played 5 bracelet events (I think 2 1kNLs, 1 1500NL, the 1500 shootout, & the Main Event). I went 0 for 5 but am more determined & motivated than ever, and I expect my WSOP itm cherry to be popped this year.

I made a solid run in the Main Event (sold 70% of myself on 2+2 the night before day 1d fwiw) before getting crippled then soon eliminated in a pretty sick way for a near chip-leader stack w/1200 left late day 3:



That report doesn't quite do the line I took justice but w/e, 97% favorite when $ went in for ~100k equity, Timoshenko runs good & I haven't in any big spots yet. Regardless I keep it pretty zen at the tables, manage my roll responsibly, I work/study hard & am patiently awaiting my first big bink, which I hope to share with my investors in this shootout!! I had a large edge in all events I played at the Rio last year & am currently twice the player I was then.

Though I'm fairly new to live tournaments, with about 25 under my belt & 4 cashes, my biggest live cash so far is a heads up chop in an April '10 Venetian Deepstack $340 for 12k. I had 40% of the chips & other dude gave me even chop in exchange for the title & trophy going to him.

Does anyone know how many players advance from each round?

The starting chip counts suggest that each round plays down to 1 winner (4500 chips round 1, 45k round 2, 450k round 3) but I'm confused at player counts.

Round 1: 2000 players start --> 200
Round 2: 200 --> 20
Round 3: 20 --> winner?

last year there was 1400 players & it went 1400 --> 140 --> 14 --> winner

last year's 5k shootout went 360 (36 10-handed tables) --> 36 (6x 6max tables) --> 6 --> winner

so it'll depend on how many runners sign up, but you get the basic idea. It will always be a triple shootout spread over 3 days.

Forgot to mention this, but writing it here so intentions are clear.

If I reach heads up at 1st or 2nd table vs. another good player & we decide to swap 5-10% as a 'save', that swap % will come proportionately from all of our pieces. I promise I will use my best judgment & not swap with someone unless they are a very solid player.

When do you plan on closing this out? I see that the guy you traded action with finished in the money...which means you owe investors

I have texted/PM'd everyone about closing this out. Still waiting to hear from a couple of you. Just want to say thanks again for investing, its a shame I couldn't make you guys some big $$$.
