lol, well i can't really argue with you. you are absoultely correct, and i feel that way sometimes too. But really, online poker just lacks a few elements that are really key elements of poker. (tells being the obv example) Online certainly makes up for it in other ways, like being able to see tons of hands, but thats why i play 5-10 times higher live than i do online. I can see how it would be excrutiating if you started off playing online and then went to live though.

Really it depends on the game. If it's a bunch of funny/entertaining guys, (or girls) you'll have a fun time. Sometimes (more often than i'd like) it's a bunch of stupid idiot creepy wierdos, or everyone is just listening to their ipod's and it's like "shoot me now".
I've heard in general the higher the stakes the lamer the players, so u guys playing 100/200+ live probably encounter alot more of the aholes that i don't want to talk to.

but yeah, if you're going to grind day-in and day-out online is the way to go

Friend of mine played underage at borg, was carded, and his chips confiscated until his 21st birthday... several years later I might add

Live poker is great if you like sitting around a crowded table next to some behemoth that keeps bumping his knee against yours, while listening to live "pros" talk "strat" (every comment ending with the nauseatingly sarcastic "so yeah keeping raising that hand there bro"), superduper fish berating mere superfish for their "donk play", 60 year old Asian chain smokers calling for "make scramble!" when they take a beat (or a cooler, or if they're dealt 27o UTG), 70 year old white guys regaling each other with fascinating tales about their "diabeetus" in between creepily flirting with the 30 year old dealer just trying to grind out enough tips to pay for community college tuition, and 25 year old walking Ed Hardy billboards flexing their muscles at the poor masseuses that have to stare at asscracks all day for 20 dollars an hour. All of this is going on while you try to find something to do to occupy your time and/or not begin foaming at the mouth, so you decide to stare straight down at the felt and shuffle your chips, which sounds harmless enough until you look at your hands and see this weird dirt/dye hybrid powder coating your fingernails.
This is gold. Also, it is generally correct. I use to play a lot of live poker, but now I just can't stand the boredom/high rake/not enough hands, etc.

The funny thing is in card rooms, They don't even card you. I have been playing at my local card room since i was 21, and havent been carded once.

Statues are quite limited in their mobility, actually.

wow i cant believe no one else is a big enough Seinfeld fan to get that. I laughed as soon as i read that, but maybe i just watch too much tv. Kramer argues with Jerry over whether it is statue or statute of limitations. Kramer obv is the one who thinks that its statue. Elaine confirms it is actually statute. The End.

The casinos in Ontario use stamps for those who are carded.
If they see your ID and you're like 25 or above they won't ask you about stamping your hand.
But if you've got the mean teen stash or are around 19-20years old, you're getting it.

No level, true story!

so there is this web site that makes fake ids for $50. well long story short i got one and went to my local indian casino to try it out...ended up getting stuck $500 playing black jack..then they decided to id me and noticed it was a fake and gave me my $500 back but kept the id. they said that if they would have took my money they could have got in trouble with gaming. so they kicked my out but i still had my $500 so i went to the next indian casino where u only have to be 18 to play poker but 21 to play table games..played 4-8 limit for a while and made $200 then decided to try and parlay it on the craps table..10 mins later i walk away with $1200 on the way to the cage i decide to put a max bet on black for a G and hit it so went to the cage and cashed out $2200 and got $200 in ones and went to the strip club and made it rain.

true fkn story
