I don't have any stats on the villain, but from what I've seen he's capable of bluffing a lot and doesn't give up pots easily, and I basically see his 3bet preflop as he is showdown bound. But also, he's not exactly a ******. The main question I have here is regarding the river. After I checked I immediately regretted it, and feel like bet/fold would've been a better line. Maybe I should've just c/r the flop? I haven't played in a while and any feedback would be helpful. Thanks.

I would usually c/r the flop, but if he is showdown bound playing passive is best. As played on the river I don't see much that calls your bet but doesn't bet itself, AT probably fits, but I don't see how he can payoff with 99 or under, although they still find a way. Still I think he's gonna bet with mid pockets more than he's gonna call with them. I also like seeing a showdown.

I like the line you took. Its not a bad thing to sometimes play your draws passively, ESPECIALLY if you have a strong feeling your opponent is showdown bound/connected with flop.

Its good you are thinking about your other lines, which probably ends with check raising the flop and firing 3. Which is a completely fine line as well, but I still like your c/c c/c c/c.

i much, much prefer to c/r flop and continue to lead. i hate playing draws like this so weakly. at least by taking the lead you might get a fold out of a low pair if you totally miss.

when/if you get repopped on the turn or river, you can then call or dump your hand using the info you have gained from playing with him.

I would cr flop or maybe cr turn occasionally...it is a good flop to cr because there aren't many draws he can put you on so you might get him to fold an a high on blank turn

some of those guys are never folding 22 here facing a c/r, as they will think "he could have QJ or a bluff." Heck, they might even FSD the turn with 22.

i would c/r the flop and then call when you paired on the river

If I think there is a good chance that he's gonna fold a pair anywhere (ie 99 on the river) in the hand then i would CR the flop.

If I don't think he's gonna fold a pair then I like your line.

Given your read I would bet the river unless you think he's gonna bet with A high or valuebet 22 there.

And the decision between b/f or b/c is largely opponent dependent vs most I'd say b/f.
