Hello Pokerstars,

While playing tournaments tonight your client completely froze on my computer at about 11:37pm EST. It was only the pokerstars client, my fulltilt client was working impecably, as was my internet browser. I couldn't end the task in Task Manager it just hung on the screen. I was forced to cut the power to my computer.

I was playing 3 tournaments at the time, as well as another tournament in full tilt--- and the disconnection cost me 8-9 minutes of that play in all tournaments. In that time my chipstack deep in one tournament went from 10/20 to 14/15. I'm not sure what the implications were in the other two tournaments I was playing but they were also in the high ante structure and it definately blinded away my stacks

The disconnection totally ruined my tournaments + night. I'm seeking a generous re-embursement for my trouble

-Tony

I still have one tournament running on full tilt.

A9 < 33 out before bubble, no more tourneys for real this time

has anyone had experience dealing with stars with disconnections?
tonytwotimes TUESDAY Quote
10-06-2010 , 12:27 AM
sry for asking as i am a tournament noob, but what was your motivation to go AI with
A9 so short before the bubble?
tonytwotimes TUESDAY Quote
10-06-2010 , 12:37 AM
oh that one was easy, we were short and if I saw a +EV opprotunity I was going to take it rather than blinding my stack away for the bubble only to get a min cash instead of a final table

before the hand I already picked everyone I was going to reshove against

It included villian, Button ----and possibly Cutoff depending on what I made of his open size
------------------------

I knew villian was oging to open very wide because he has a big stack and thats how bigstacks play. I also knew he wouldn't be able to call with very much (but at the same time may call incorrectly alot---KQ/KJ/33)

as of now the package is slightly negative, but I will hear from pokerstars they should give me some refunds. Won't ship funds until then

really disappointing

skipped a ton of tourneys b/c of the deep runs + the fact I didn't want to grind out a couple of lone 2.2s till the wee hours of the night

not correct, i was railing too

and thanks for the explanation of the A9 hand. I would have shoved too but after loosing it i would have thought that it would have been one of my typical donk moves.

Its all about fold equity, lets say villian calls with 22+ A6s+, a9o+, a couple KJ KQ hands that = 15.5% of his range... and against that range a9o has 41.1% equity. Quite often you'll see these guys with PFRs ~50 in Late position. So that Means villian won't be able to call 70% of the time!!! Not to mention villian is less likely to have an A in his hand b/c there is one in ours.

A fold equity calculator I just ran told me I only need villian to fold 33% of the time to see profit. big +EV

cliff; villian folds 70% of the time ---- but we only need him to fold 33% of the time to see a profit.

How "short" were you... and how many chips did villain have? This skews the numbers pretty big.... Because if you are giving the villain 2:1+ he is never folding 70% of the time and not folding 33% of the time if he is negood.. Hence not having the "fold equity" you talked about..

Just adding my 2cents to the convo.. Imo gotta win flips to win tourneys.. but i assume 33 is at the bottom of his calling range

HI all,

So what was the final tally? I know some tournies were skipped (no problem with that), but was was the final buy-in and what was the final win?

I was trying to rail, but fell asleep.

For anyone else that is interested my shove offered villiian 41% pot odds. and my M was 7.7 he wouldn't be calling any wider than that.
