Thanks guys. Ya Nofx, that was my low point but there were definitely those playing wild to build or bust late. A couple even forfeited their day1a stacks to play day1b. I couldn’t believe the 3 announcements reminding players they could do it, but eh it’s good for poker.
90 minute levels begin day2, as they were 60 minutes day1. The grind is on the mind. Starts at 1pm Cali time.
It was a great start, running the 16k to over 120k halfway through the 1600 level. It then went a bit down from there, where I brought around 80k to the feature table to start the 2400 level. I was the short stack on the table, with 3 very good players on my direct left. It put me in a tough spot, where I mainly knitted sweaters with not a lot to work with. We broke the table for the 3k level, and I ended with 71.5k.
101 players out of 757 left. 71.5k to start the 4k level. A lot of work left to do!
Sigh but it's nice to cash after on that short stack for so long. I was placed on the feature table again during the 5k level, again with a short stack =/. Dry on my end until running AK into KK to busto. Besides one hand that’s getting to me, I’m satisfied with grinding it out for so long with minimal spots. It is what it is.
I gotta make it back to Vegas for the girl, but am considering hitting up the end of the series. Also thinking about adding in the WPT in Reno at the end of September. All still up in the air as of now.
The live tourney action is back in Vegas, starting with the Festa al Lago at the Bellagio. I ended up skipping the Commerce and Reno, while playing a few Caesars events on the side - which overall went no bueno. It will be interesting to see how many runners these B events get, looking for decent turnouts and W‘s. The first one is a $330 with two day 1s.
It was a good showing, with about 300 total entrants for day 1a, and a lot of well known faces. All started good and then ended bad where I went out around 100th. Another go at it for day 1b. Time to run it up.
It was a relatively short day, as the field dwindled down quick and they were forced to pause play. Between both of the day 1s, it ended with around 640 entries, ~140 left and 100 in the money. I’ll be starting the 1200 level with only 24.3k chips from 10k starting (ave ~45k)….but overall satisfied with the day. At it tomorrow, starting back up at noon.
Fun game, bubbled with a flip vs Anders, AQvJJ sb to co nh. Good ole live tourneys.........
Also I need to bring my car into the auto body shop as I slammed into something in the road and it's now leaking a lot of oil =/. #itsalwayssomething - it's 50/50 for the 5pm as of now.
Down to 9 out of 110 runners. A low turnout but almost as expected. I'm coming into the FT as the short stack (**) with 55.6k chips, 3k level. 1.1m chips in play. The plan is to get all of the betting discs =). Starts back up at 1pm.
I'll be missing Event #5 at noon for the FT, and will leave the 5pm Event #6 on the table as per how the day goes.
Played both events today and donk spewed early out of both. Slightly disappointed at the plays but that is poker. Going to clear my head tonight and get back at it tomorrow.
