Once, I have played it a total of 2 hours since the last time though, I wanted an elite for a bigger HDD.

So is there any kind of guarantee this is going to work?

RROD is covered by 3 year warranty.

Warranty is good only for the original buyer.

A. WARRANTIES

* 90-Day Express Warranty. Subject to the terms and conditions of this Limited Warranty, Microsoft warrants to you only (the original purchaser), that under normal use and service the Xbox Product will substantially conform with the accompanying printed user instruction materials for a period of 90 days starting as of the date of your sales receipt (the "Warranty Period").

In the OP's defense, it's a common misconception that warranties carry over when sold.

meh, It's not hard to fix yourself if you have the tools/ technical skills.

But I wouldn't give $150+shipping for this.

LOL, i def lack the technical skills.

Im not 100% positive about this ring of death.

Could someone explain it to me in simple terms?

And is it something that just goes away since he played 2 hrs on it after it occured?

I have played it 2 hours since MS shipped it back to me for fixing the RROD.

That's a different story than it having the RROD and it working for 2 hours prior.

How long did they keep it?
Did they ship your original 360, or send you a different Refurb?

Warranty is still void, though.

90% sure its the 360 I had, which had gone a long time without getting it.

I got it back ~ 3 weeks after shipping it out.

Fair enough, that seems consistent.

I'm still a bit leery about this but not so much that I would deter other buyers.

Enough to think you should settle for around $100-$130+shipping, though. I'm not sure how much the charger kit is worth so I'm not sure on an exact estimate.

I would still like to get $150 for it, but if I have to settle for like $130 + shipping I most likely will since I really don't need it anymore.

The RROD issue was a pretty big omission in the OP

Its been played for 2 hours since, it has the same chance of getting the RROD now as any other 360.

How long ago was it that you sent it off?

Dec 7th or somewhere around there.

Got it back the 29th.

Only played it to make sure it worked since I had bought an elite during the time where it was in Texas.

If you sent it off this recently, and you got your own system back, there should be less of a chance that this 360 will RROD again. There is still a chance because Microsoft doesn't fix them correctly IMHO. They are doing better than when this all started, since they upped the warranty to 3 years.

If you didn't get your own system back, then you are right, there is just as much likelihood of this system breaking down again as any other 360 made before they fixed the design flaw.

This is because not all 360's sent back to the company to be refurb'd are there because of RROD, and Microsoft only fixes the problem that it causing it to fail, not fix any potential future problems. So when they pull a Refurb'd 360 off the shelf to send you as a replacement, it may still have the design unfixed.

FWIW a similar system, one that had been sent to Microsoft to fix RROD, just sold on Ebay for around $150 a little while ago. It didn't have an HDMI cable or a battery charger for the controller, but did include an extra controller and a Madden game.

I'm not sure how the price comparison goes, but it does show that these systems certainly are worth "something".

Hmmm I might sell it on ebay then since most people seem to not be interested in this anyway. Thanks nfiniti.
