If you sent it off this recently, and you got your own system back, there should be less of a chance that this 360 will RROD again. There is still a chance because Microsoft doesn't fix them correctly IMHO. They are doing better than when this all started, since they upped the warranty to 3 years.
If you didn't get your own system back, then you are right, there is just as much likelihood of this system breaking down again as any other 360 made before they fixed the design flaw.
This is because not all 360's sent back to the company to be refurb'd are there because of RROD, and Microsoft only fixes the problem that it causing it to fail, not fix any potential future problems. So when they pull a Refurb'd 360 off the shelf to send you as a replacement, it may still have the design unfixed.
FWIW a similar system, one that had been sent to Microsoft to fix RROD, just sold on Ebay for around $150 a little while ago. It didn't have an HDMI cable or a battery charger for the controller, but did include an extra controller and a Madden game.
I'm not sure how the price comparison goes, but it does show that these systems certainly are worth "something".
