hi,

due to scheduling problems, all in my side's fault, i cannot complete the 5 hours of coaching i paid for with starchyy.

as you probably know, starchyy is a 2+2 verified coach. i was actually very happy with his coaching style and learned a lot from him, but the time difference and my complicated schedule just made it impossible.

i paid 250$ for 5 hours of coaching and i'm willing to sell the 3 hours reamining for 110$.

the thing is i don't think it's fair for him as it's my fault i couldn't complete the 5 sessions.

so i thought that this might be a good opportunity for the community and the only one who loses something is me.

there is nothing unfair about asking for a refund for services not rendered. if you got a bulk discount, staarchy can charge you the non-bulk rate for those two hours.

you should not feel even slightly guilty about asking for a refund unless you wasted a ton of his time not getting lessons. and even then, you should still be able to get a refund.

if staarchy will not refund you, he is not legitimate and nobody should buy those coaching hours from you because staarchy is obviously someone who can not be trusted.

i really appreciate all the information.

i haven't once asked starchyy for a refund. this was my decision and i still think it is the best thing to do.

if nobody is interested, i will ask him for a refund which i'm completely sure he will. but i would still like to offer someone in the community this chance.

i would hate, and i will not let it happen, let this thread turn out as a discussion on how legit is a guy who has nothing to do with this.

well then just ask him for a refund and give him a chance to prove what a good guy he is!

you seem to like him and are trying to do a nice thing, which is nice of you, but you are in NO WAY obligated to find someone else to take these hours from you.

poker coaches are about the last people on earth who should have a no-refund policy.

Augie, I feel that your stance is a bit too strong. Here are my thoughts:

Coaches have set up their own schedules around coaching students. If they plan on coaching x amount of students per month, but then they all cancel after a session or two, this coach might not be able to find new students right away, so they lose income. When you agree to pay for coaching, you are essentially entering into a contract for the coaches services.

Obviously it's much better for everyone if coaches give partial refunds in a case like this, but there are reasons not to (other than being not legit).

Anyway OP, did you talk to starchhy? In order for you to sell the hours he's supposed to post in this thread confirming the # of hours and that he's ok w/ transferring them to another person -- that way there's no issues.

Maybe he can chime in on the refund issue as well. This should happen sooner than later because he is no longer a verified coach on 2p2 and we will likely lock up this thread if it hangs around too long.

i spoke to starchyy asking permission to start this thread.

i haven't yet asked for a refund as i was waiting if anyone was interested. there has only been one guy but it's hard to contact him via AIM.

i think starchyy is still a verified 2+2 coach but he sometimes takes the thread down when he has no free spots for new students in his schedule. though he should confirm this.

anyway, i'll leave it a few more days and if i can't find anyone interested i'll talk to him directly and you can lock this thread up.

IamPro, I paid 250 for 5 hours, i think 85 for 3 is way too low
