If he wanted to stream cash games, he has to do it at reasonably high stakes. At least 200nl if not higher. No one cares about watching micro stakes cash. All the big streamers on twitch are either tournaments or high stakes cash.

He probably got there and they were like "Oh yeah, it's 1/3nl but every time Dave has the button we play a round of 80/160 triple draw" and I'm guessing this 1/3 game had a max buyin of 600 or 1k or match the largest stack at the table and there's no way 6b would be shown up by NOT buying in for the absolute max he can.

He probably got into at least one hand where he was "forced" to call a 7b shove with 44 and the guy "showed up with the top of his range!"

He probably had at least one hand where he needlessly got into a massive coinflip and lost.

After you lose your 3rd BI in a home game, it is time to go home, even if you had only been there 30 minutes. Maybe you're running bad, but too often something else is going on.

Couldnt have anything to do with the op going for the optional 4th straddle and shoveling money in with minimal equity and regressing toward the mean?

This. Although the losses were probably just down to OP playing horrendously. No doubt he called off his stack pre with 54s and 63s a few times.

10 handed PLO with whales and nonsense straddles etc. make very easy to lose 1000bb. thats nothing like “zomg lose 11 bi online” .

11 buyins yes if its 100bb max buyin. If it's some 500bb max buyin quadruple straddle game then it's a different story.

There's a 50cent-50cent NLHE/PLO ring in a pub in my hometown that has no max buyin, minimum buyin 40bb. Certain players routinely buyin for 300-600bbs. Definitely possible to lose 1000bbs in a game like that.

OP playing random stakes / buyins with no overarching plan and no discipline, who could have predicted a 3k loss in a 1/3 NLHE home game with sub 20 h/hr
