Hi everyone, I'll keep this short. My name's Jon, and I've been playing poker on and off for a little over three years now. I've never really played too seriously, but given some recent health issues, I've decided to really try my best to get to the highest stakes both online and live.

I'll mostly be documenting my grind online, starting at 100NL. I'll also do live cash (5/10) and tournament updates as well, though I won't be playing a whole lot of live cash/tournaments. O, and I live in southern California currently, so my live cash will be played primarily at Hawaiian Gardens, The Bike, and Commerce. Maybe some LATB appearances in the future!

I literally play a hand like this every 2-3 hours at 500 ignition. Did your friend just start playing 500?

Rough day today. Got dumpstered in what felt like every spot, but finally got back to winning towards the end. Decided to add in some 200nl full ring for the hell of it and that went pretty well. Maybe I'll play one table of full ring as I try to move up.

Another brutal day. Started off 3-4 bis under ev playing 100 6max, then played 200 full ring until I broke even. Going to play at Commerce tomorrow, so hopefully I run well and build a dope stack.

Had a headache pretty much all day, so decided not to play live. Played a bit online, just made my head worse. Still got my 1k hands in tho, so that's a win.

Again, not feeling too hot, but wanted to get my 1k hands in so I played mostly 50z.

Played live at the commerce a few days ago. Pretty uneventful, think I ended up down $200 or so, maybe a bit more. Think I'm going to avoid playing live until I can play higher. I'm not really playing for the money, so I think focusing on improving online is a better use of my time atm. I'd rather reach highest stakes online then go play the bigger games live when I feel like it.

Haha, thanks. Overall, I'm really pleased with my strategy. Regs seem to make a lot of mistakes against me, which is good. I'm just losing every flip/ all in atm. Doesn't feel too bad though because I'm running pretty well at 200 full ring.

First 300-400 hands are 3 tables of 100 and 1 table of 200 full ring. I sucked out SUPER hard on my full ring table so super above EV today. Rest of hands were 50 zone to get to 1k hands. About 8bis away from shot taking 200nl.

Played some 500 full ring (won 2 stacks), 100 6 max, and 200 6 max. Got absolutely dumpstered at 100 for about 5 bis, then lost about 1bi at 200. 200 went pretty well, but regs did not seem to adjust as much as I thought they would. 4 betting just seems to be always super nutted even though I'm 3 betting so much. So just have to fold to the 4 bets I guess.

I guess I'll start posting some hands (maybe 5 a day?). Feel free to share any thoughts/advice etc. I'm not really too sure how to pick the hands to post on here, so if anyone has any advice on that lmk (biggest pots? 3 bet pots? coolers? weird ****?)

It's been a few weeks since I've updated this. I was having a rough week in terms of my health, so I decided to go to vegas to hopefully feel better (which I definitely have, which is great.)

I've been playing 5/T at the Bellagio pretty much every day for about a week, and I've got to say, I've actually enjoyed playing live a lot more than I thought I would. If I didn't have to drive so far in SoCal, I'd definitely play a lot more.

Some Chip Stacks:

Around 6k iirc there's a 500 chip at the bottom of the 100s

Little Over 3k (nothing special, but I haven't been able to build too many huge stacks)


Up around 3500 in the 10 or so days I've been playing. Should be up 7500, but lost a 4k pot to a whale on A229Q all in on the turn in a 4 bet pot. I cold 4 bet him, he donk lead and shoved turn with AQ. Obviously, I had AK. Also got boat over boated in a 4k pot as well, but that's poker.

It's been a lot of fun so far. I leave on Monday, so I have 1 more day of poker in me. Maybe I can run up a stack tomorrow. I've met some great people while I've been playing here. Shout out to Simon the Russian. He's a cool dude. I guess when I get home ill post an updated 200nl graph.

Played about 4-5 hours today. Ended +1570. Probably done with 5/T for the trip. Might donk around playing 1-2 PLO later today.

Chip Stack for today (around 3500 at the time I think)

Decided to play a $2200 at the bike yesterday. Busted out in the second orbit AA to KK. Fun stuff. I then headed over to Commerce since there were no 5/T games at the bike when I busted. Waited on the list for like 10 minutes, then decided to play the $350 100k. Fired two bullets there, and of course busted both.

Though about going home, but decided to instead grab some food and play cash. Played for about 6-7 hours and ended up about $1470.

Chip stack: about 3k



No exciting hands really. Too many 4 way and 5 way flops to get too creative postflop. When I open hands like 45s, 56s, etc, my first thought is to play them like I normally do, but when I see what goes to showdown in these pots, it just seems like valuebetting is the way to go, albeit a little less fun for me.

Started with about 1400-1800, don't really remember.

Oldman opens utg for $35, 2 people call. I squeeze to $200 otb (probably too big ip, but o well). BB thinks for about a minute and cold calls (I saw him limp call $200 with 65s, so not worried about his hand). Original raiser folds, and 1 of the callers calls. 3 people to flop with 670 in the pot. Wasn't completely sure at the time, but BB seemed like a spaz and 2nd villain capable of getting out of line as well.

Flop (670):Ks9s5s (could be wrong, all I remember for sure was that there were 3 spades and a King)

checks to me and I check back. Normally bet 1/3rd with range here, but decided on a check thinking one of these two players would bet turn a lot here. I don't really like my check, but o well.

turn (670) is a brick: 2d or some other low non spade

checks to me again. I bet $250. BB calls. other villain folds.

River (1170) is 7h. BB donk jams for around $900 and I call. He had Qsx, so presumably QJo, or QTo.

Probably going to avoid live tournaments for the time being. They kinda just tilt me.
