About Me

First and for most i would like to say i am keeping my personal details private in this PG&C thread due to some personal reasons that i am not willing to discuss. What i can say are the facts. I have been playing poker since a couple months post black Friday and currently for the last year or so been playing 200nl on a variety of sites most of my volume being on 888 and Party Poker. I have had 5 coaches in my poker career my most recent/current is Alan Jackson from 2+2 who has helped excelled my game/career to new heights and has given me a solid foundation and insight of how the game should be played.

Main Premise

In this thread i plan on working towards a number of goals such as mental health, physical fitness, diet, and mainly poker and discussing my progress of these issues to help share the experience with players to come after me and learn from players that have come before me but before i get into that i want to highlight the primary goal and why this is part 1 of a 2/multi part goal thread. To set up the Main Premise i will devulge a slight bit of back round about my self. I am a bit older late 20's. I started school late due to a tough childhood and financial issues but was motivated enough to go back to school in technology. I currently have about two semesters roughly left in my degree with an expected graduation date of Spring 2017. I currently work part time(Full time during the summer) an internship with a possible full time position starting summer of 2017. That being said a majority of my income comes from poker which has paid for the house i currently live in with two other roomates and pays the bill along with alot of excess money which i will admit has not been spent in the best ways.

To cut to the point the goal is simple. My roll is currently hovering around $11,000 it was much higher but due to some expenditures that i was required to make and a small down swing this is what we are left with. Due to my school schedule, My lab sessions for poker, playing, part/full time internship(Which i make **** money at currently), and a GF i never see something must give as it effects my life in other aspects such as GF, diet, etc which brings me to why i am creating this thread.

The goal is simple. Run bank roll from $11,000 to $25,000 by May 1st. I will say this now Making financial goals is a bad thing. Fortunately my mental game is very sound and it doesn't affect me one way or the other personally. The $25,000 mark is just a finite finish point to take my journey to the next level. Part 2 will go one of two ways. If we achieve this goal then on May 1st i will put in my two week resignation at my internship and pursue a two year journey of self independence and freedom that only poker has to offer. I am still young and want to prove to my self that i can turn this game into a profitable career. This is a perfect time in my life to do this as i still have 1-1.5 years of my school left and i am not connected with a serious job. Also my field is one of the highest in terms of demands for the job market so if i feel i have failed after 2 years i can easily transition back into the work force and will be along the lines of when i complete my education.

Now i want to emphasis my number one goal is to complete my education regardless because i feel strong poker players have contingency plans as the career choice they are choosing comes with a lot of volatility and should mitigate their risk with having such a plan. I also don't want to derail this thread with arguments of pros and cons i have already debated these with several friends, family members, and my CPA and we are all in agreement looking at the numbers and time period that you only live once and its a smart decision to take a risk.

Laundry List of Other Goals
Some of these goals i will not be working towards during this time period but i want to highlight them as they are on my mind and want to get them into paper.

-Lose weight(Future goal)
-Get back to the gym(Future goal)
-Study chakra therapy and other spiritual avenues(Future goal)
-At some point become proficient in some sort of martial arts(Future goal)
-At some point take professional culinary classes to learn how to cook healthy meals and develop a sound healthy meal plan(Future goal)
-Reconnect with my community and giving back by taking part in alot of walks/runs for charity and eventually performing community service and volunteering at homeless kitchens and other outreaches to the poor.(This is a very serious future goal of mine. For a period of my younger life i was homeless/coach surfing and i want to have a healthy outlet where i can give back and help people who are in need)
-Travel to some bucket list countries that i have on my list and get a broader view of the world.

Poker Goals
I feel these are more self explanatory but i want to have a written reference to look at as a point of motivation to keep these ideals fresh in my mind along with some more specific points.
-Update a new schedule for playing times and stick to them.
-Attempt to play close to my A game or best game possible at the current moment during each and every session.
-Continue to make head way on Blind improvements i have made over the last year.
-Construct some better cold call ranges from MP, CO, and BTN based off data.
-Complete comprehensive run through of book:Mathematics of poker.

Some Graphs
If i haven't mentioned yet i play 6max cash but i also play tournaments. I have my MTT results on a public tracker but will not be posting them. In 2015 i won about $30,000. I do have my cash results in my Hm2 tho so i will post them here.

Party June To Nov(Mostly Aug/September)

Party Nov To Present
In this sample party gave me a very substantial bonus to clear so i was playing a ton of volume which led to a very bad down swing mixed with some poor play. Thankfully it gave me the opportunity to fix alot of issues in my game and realize that i should decrease total number of tables played and be more selective on the table i sit down instead of playing every damn table i can. I am posting this here not out of shame but as a reminder of a time when i was not playing at my best nor making the correct decisions.

888(Two sites) and Party since Jan 29th(When i dropped volume)

Moving Forward
To finalize want to mention what to look forward with this thread in terms of my deliverables. I want to update the thread every day or two. I will be less active over the weekends as i am trying to spend more time with my GF in the month of February. Posting hands i mark for review and discussing them indepth. Will also add some sections on any personal stuff that i find interesting to bring to the table. #FeelTheBern2016!!!

Live and Debauchery

Last night is kinda a blur so i am gonna try and recall as much as i can either way it was epic none the less. I somehow get out of hanging out with the GF cause she wanted to hang out with her friend/go out to eat. So i told her i wasn't going cause i had some work i had to finish for my internship. After getting off the phone with her i take a 3 hour nap cause i didn't get much sleep the night before. When i wake up i see a text message from my friend Bruce reminding me he invited me earlier in the week down to the casino. Apparently it was his friends birthday and they had a room which means only trouble if i go. I laid back down for 15 mins contemplating this considering the consequences is have to hear my girl friend bitch all saturday before valentines day that i am hung over as **** and that i will not be showing up on time.

Needless to say i ended up going lol. We end up picking up one of those huge bottles of 1800 Tequila and some craft beer and go down. We pregamed in the room for a long time. Now i will say this up front i usually don't play live all to often compared to how much i play online. It can be boring so i accept i am going down to have a good time among anything else as i can just win way more money online. There was this guy my friend brought with him named Nick who i met once prior seemed like a cool guy/party animal. After pregaming some Tequila and beers we go grab some food at this sports bar at the casino. I question Nick why hes acting a little weird he ends up telling me he ate like 4 pot brownies which i find pretty ridiculous as one will mess you up pretty bad.

On the way back to the room Nick is moving pretty slow at one point we turn around after taking 10 steps and he is completely gone. My buddy Bruce said sometimes he does weird stuff and goes off on his own so we are like ok crazy but we gotta keep it moving so we leave a message on his phone with our room number and to meet up with us later. I end up going back to the room to meet up with the rest of our party and continue drinking.

We end up going down stairs after a while to find nick and gamble which we finally do. I dropped $150 on one to one numbers i had 30, 31, 32 and some other numbers the chick to my right ends up taking the house for three grand by hitting 29 was so beat. I follow Nick over to the $15 black jack table and end up running $300 that i put down into $800 playing double handed and keeping Nick in the game spotting him a couple hands as we were the only two on the table. From there i get some Irish Breakfast rounds for the crew and move to another lounge for more drinks.

I tried to convince the bros to head to the strip club but that ended up not happening including Nick losing a $25 prop that he couldn't get a number($100 if he got it from this hot asian waitress). Somewhere inbetween this story i played a little poker but i broke even and ended up talking Politics with a very friendly but tight table.

Back to Poker
Eventually my friend Bruce went to bed and i convinced Nick to take a cab over to a close by casino that i prefer to play at and he agrees. We hit up some drinks at the 24 hour bar they have on site. He tells me he only has $100 so i told him i would spot him another $100 until his credit card restrictions clear up the next day so he could sit with me. This was like 4am so we could easily get a table. Now mind you Nick barely knows how to play poker. After spewing off half his stack He ends up getting it all in on the turn with QJ vs A7 on TT66(Dont ask me how) Q spikes river and he doubles which i immediately advise him to leave the table and pay me the $100 back.

Him actually being on the table along with me being drunk and playing very aggressive actually helped me tremendously. Everytime i would open i would bet $15(This is at $1/$2 mind you) and would get like 5 or 6 callers. Avg pot size was $70-$80 and everyone was bluffing/calling light especially vs me. I end up opening 55 and flopping a set on J52 all diamond board. Guy bets out and i shove over him for $200. He tells me he had 2nd nuts i pair the board on the turn and show him the boat. Same guy ends up doubling up against another player making us about $400 effective. Its about 8:45am at this time i stopped drinking about 6:30 because i figure i had to drive around 12 when we got back to go to the GF house. I get dealt 99 and get 5 callers one of which includes the guy i stacked when he had 2nd nutz. Flop comes 975 rainbow. I bet close to pot. Everyone folds he calls. Turn is a 5 so now i have full house again 99s full of 55s. I think for a little and slide out a $100 stack. He calls pretty quickly. River is an 8 so 98755 he checks to me and i snap say "All In" shipping my remaining stack in the middle. He curses for a little bit and starts staring me down. I get the bright idea to try and show i am breathing real heavy like im on some stud bluff. Now mind you i did at some point bluff my whole stack off with QJo on some low unconnected board and showed after some guy folded with 99 in a earlier hand. He ends up calling i table the boat he shows the guy to his right the hand, mucks, and tells me he flopped 86o. Guy next to him says he had QQ and i end up leaving.

End up going back to the other casino where our room is at and i take a nap on the ride home. Still have to go get my car had my gf waking me up in my house couple hours later and feel pretty ****ty. After expenses i won about $400-$500 and a good time.

Should be back on the online grind Monday when i get home. I think there's suppose to be a snow storm coming Monday so i might play from here.
