A free dollar is a free dollar.

If you're getting worried by Broken's volume recently I understand.

Betting on meale is legit lighting money on fire. His only chance is to reduce himself to scum-baggery and cheat somehow.

I don't need to cheat, Mason. I'll win on sheer superiority alone.

Here's today:

Bit over 13 hours logged today. Just warming up boysssssss.

Nice day results wise too, +15.8 buyins after rake, HEM actually missed a bunch of big hands today so it read under the actual. Biggest winning session in a long while for me! This is my third consecutive day of winning 10+ buyins!

31,612 hands and counting. Tomorrow is gym and hopefully 12 hours or so.

I think he was talking about broken, who is currently playing great & crushing as well he is running hot as ever (nothing new though for broken though) lol according to majority of his PG&C he has just been on a heater for years now

Random 2+2 Poster: "I'm winning over 10k hands, is that enough to know if I'm a winning player?"

Community: "No you need at least 100k hands to determine your actual winrate."

Brokenstars: "I started at 5nl a few years ago and now after hundreds of thousands of hands play 500nl."

Community: "It's just a heater."

Whilst Broken is undoubtedly a good poker player and has got a lot better since he started I don't know a single poker player who plays for a living that hasn't had a sick heater to get them to where they are. Whether that is a big tournament win or running really pure at an important time in their career. It is a lot easier (still very hard) to put in the effort when your results are good, when your result are bad you just think **** it why bother with poker.

People really don't appreciate variance. Go back 10 years and people would lol at thinking a winning 70k sample was variance are dead broke from poker. Look at the people who ran meh and earned 40k a year and could get better jobs rather than dedicating themselves to poker etc.

Look at the complete losers who binked tournaments 20 years ago that still think they are good poker players when they have been consistent heavy losers for many years.

And Broken is a clever capable person who I would argue would do better outside of poker over the long term. It definitely isn't "just a heater" but he is 100% on a life heater.

Survirorship bias is really fun in poker. The difference is people who work hard and that's all you can judge it on but it's still mostly based on people who ran good especially from the age Broken did.

Big facts.

Yes people do sun run & go on sick heaters, HOWEVER the only ones that make it in the long term are the ones who also put in the work & study and improve constantly to keep grinding & move up in stakes. I have seen so many PG&C pages & graphs and posts of 25-50k hand samples of crazy heaters then the person just stops posting and vanish because the heater is over. Broken is amongst the select few people who have posted from the start and is still posting years later with great success. I also found it funny that majority of those who are hating do not have any posted results or even play similar stakes. I very quickly realized people who just hate on others success when they are miserable & angry with the shortcomings of there own poker success & personal lives. I never understood or could relate to someone who hated on another for having success at anything (poker or not), I can understand why some people are being jealous & envying a person but I would rather see that person continue to win and succeed then to hate on another person personally but maybe I am the weird one then?

End rant. Keep crushing.

When has anyone said broken was on a heater? I don’t recall seeing anything of the sort (that wasn’t sarcasm) in at least the past year of his thread.

Seems like a weird feedback loop to confirm correctness against an enemy that does not exist.

MMSS is also 100% correct about survivorship bias and poker fwiw

Not even 5 min. ago on twitch "EndingLife: brokenstars runs like god"
(Might not be in his thread currently or past few months but they have been in the past and for sure within the last year, either got deleted or you didn't really look to hard)

Not just broken but lots of other players also.

Back in 2008-2009 i was on a 150k hand sample heater at 200nl and won 300 buyins. I was probably a break-even player at the time. That is some serious sun run.

Back to the point though, the higher your winrate the lower your downswings. If you put a world class player in 5nlZoom pool he will probably never lose over a 10k hand sample. Statistically, it may actually be close to impossible.

So all you can really do is keep getting better and that will reduce your variance.

you're saying you won 20bb/100 over 150k hands at 200nl and you think your actual wr was 0bb? I put that into a variance calc and it's pretty much impossible. the best 150k sample for a 0bb wr was 120 buyins, which tbh is still quite significant so point taken.

Yeah I'm not buying that either. To go and say that and then say a world class player couldn't lose at 5nlz over 10k hands is just wrong?
