So I just got back from the bike - played some 300nl - was up a bit but never much - went down 300 in a big hand - but after 5 hours - left up almost a hundy! not great but not bad!

came home and played a few steps...

binked all 3 step ones i played - played one of my step 3's and ended up 2nd for a push - it's time to bink the dollar man!!?? oh well maybe tomorrow!

Like a lot of people I don't post much when I'm losing. Over the last few weeks I 'experimented' with putting my Fun Steps winnings on the street. Played mostly .25 and .50 buyin tournaments with no cashes. Also ran a single $4 shot at 4nl up to about $5 before donking it off in two hands (baby's first tilt).

Low point $5.03. Recommitted myself to Fun Steps early last week. Took a long weekend off but got back in this morning. BR Now up to $9.03.

I'm up to $23.94, 2-tabling 4NL currently until I get to $30.

Just made my first dollar with my first step 3 of the mourning still have two left.....I have to share a crazy hand that happened late in heads up which pretty much won me the match please excuse the crude posting not really sure how to post it without typing it all out

starting stacks me-5280 Cheeze-4120 blinds are at 200-400
Im on the button with 98o and rasie to 1200 cheeze calls
flop-542 rainbow it goes check check
turn-10 cheeze bets 400 I call
river-3 cheeze checks Figure its a pretty scary board with three hearts and four to a straight he checked the only way i can win is to push all in so i do
cheeze tanks and folds but show pocket dueces.....are you kidding me!!!!!
he gets on chat and says nice suck out on river and i said something like dude you just got bluffed and he replies no way your not that good i won a few hands later

time to grind this dollar to up and beyond

God I remember now the pain of these 11c and 60c games - especially the 11centers - omg - I really don't know if I want to go through this again... I think I may just have to put a deposit down of a couple of hundred and start another thread challenge.

This is painful (and I remember how bad it would get).

Had $1.04 (had 4c from last time)

11c - 4th / AK<76 (CALLING HIS SHUV)
11c - 5th / AQ<108 (THIS GUY ACTUALLY CALLED MY SHUV FOR ALMOST ALL HIS STACK?)

60c - 4TH / ONE OFF THE MONEY - SIGH - CL LIMPS UTG - FOLDS TO ME IN BB - I SHUV AK - HE SNAP CALLS Q10 - BOOM HE HITS 10 ON FLOP - THIS WAS FOR OVER HALF HIS STACK TOO - NOT LIKE I WAS SHORT STACKED!?

11c - 6TH / KK < A3 (ALL IN FIRST HAND)
11c - 6TH / QQ < J10 (ALL IN FIRST HAND)

Ok I'm back to zero cash and all those steps (listed in post above) - but I have to admit it - I don't know if I can take going through these 11centers and such again -- it really hurts to have these guys WIN who play so bad!??! But I guess it's all part of the game! They say the better players take a lot more beats than they put on people because they rarely get it in from behind... But these guys are calling allin 1st hand with 108off and such - and they get rewarded - and it fkkking hurts!!

I'd just stick to the 11c games instead of playing 60c right away. Depending too much on luck playing the 60c game. I played 184 11c games for $5.20 profit and dropped 4BI 11 times, but never more than 7BI. Give yourself 9BI instead of 4 11c/1 60c BI and you stand a much better chance at not losing your dollar and falling back to steps.

i hear you man - i'm not really here to follow the bankroll budget this early though (i have to admit)... i have won close to 3 grand in poker this past week (not a brag just ran ok)- and i'm seriously considering doing what i never planned on doing after blackfriday - and making a deposit - then playing some bigger buy ins and using strict br management)... BUT in this challenge i may take a shot at the 60c with a dollar.

i don't recommend it - i totally understand and would NEVER advise to do that - but i really feel taking a shot at the 60c isnt so bad with the dollar. of course if i had $100 i would NEVER play a $60 - so you are completely correct!

Yes - I know I know - if I'm going to play online I need to just DO it -- me and you both toyed with this idea for quite some time! We both had the FK NO - I'm NOT making a deposit (after all the blackfriday crap) - but lets see if we can make something from nothing... now we both are like forget it - lets put some money down and play REAL poker (not the 11cent luckfests, etc)! I see you have done it -- I guess its my turn!

Oh and I'm NOT saying that playing the 11centers is a bad thing - I TOTALLY admire what everyone in this thread has done (and are still doing) - grinding the challenge like crazy!! Congrats!!

Still not sure whether I'm up to actually putting more money out there (afer losing several thousand to FTP). I mean I did get money back off of Stars - but I'd hate to actually make a deposit - then turn it in to some decent money - then have some other crap happen!

But I guess putting down like 200 or 300 or something wouldn't be so bad. You can see I'm on the fence about all of this!

In the meantime - Day 1d of Hustlers Xmas tourny is tomorrow and I'm in! Finals are on Wednesday - and winner gets $50,000K out of the gtd $200,000+ prize pool!

Beat= Lost 3 BI at weekly NL 100 home game. My favorite being my KK<QQ on an 8 hi flop. River Q of course. Guess I better get to work on winning 300 step 3's

I've always been a BRM nit. I see BRM as the most important quality leading to success in poker. Has worked for me but I haven't played above the low stakes games.

I'm at $25.42. Played around 300 hands today 2-tabling.

Really thinking I need to move to 6-max and learn to play those tables. I tried it in the past but lost and couldn't get much traction trying to play in the micros. There's around 3x as many 6M tables running as FR on Merge, so it looks like the change is necessary to have enough tables to play in the future.

232 - there is NOTHING wrong and EVERYTHING right about good bankroll management - please do not think I was saying anything different!!!

You are exactly right in your advise!!

As far as 6max - well I've just been playing it for so long - but live I'm at 9 handed tables... just have to open up range but still play close attention to position, etc..

I'm sure there are a LOT of people here that can give you a lot of guidance on 6max - also in other forums on 2p2!

Late last night - I was probably in top 10-15% chip stacks - had about 70bbs... then in 20 minutes this happened:

Called shortish stacks all in with my AA in sb - he had 99
(doubled him up)

4 hands later - I raised KK mid pos - get shuved over by medium stack. He had JJ
(doubled him up)

2 hands later - I'm the shortish stack now but still have 13bbs - I'm in bb with AK - folded to button who shuvs - I call - He has A9
(i'm out)

So sick that ALL THREE of these beats happen - I mean I had done well enough prior that I was able to survive the first two outter... AND even the 2nd two outter... And still had chips that if I wouldn't have got three outted the last hand I would have been right back in it.

So no kids - did NOT make it to day two.

I was pretty sick to my stomach after... 3 hits in a row like that within 20 minutes (after playing for 7 hours)...

There's one more that I'm plaiying tomorrow at Hawaiin Gardens - it's a 100k gtd (the one yesterday was 200k gtd) but still a decent tourny. They have day 1 today and tomorrow with finals on Friday. I'm going to play tomorrow - can't really take it today!!

I have done this once before, and got my roll up to $558 before withdrawing it all.

Played about 700 hands 1-tabling 4NL 6-max since I decided to switch from FR. Probably going to start adding tables now until I've got the BR to take a shot at 10NL.
