I have alot of poker stories that I'll eventually release in due time. Those include personal stories of mine where all poker related, people have nearly died because of poker (how?!? why!?? ), crazy loads of drugs and girls, parlaying bets from poker to online gaming, having a bankroll enough to buy two brand new M3s oh yeah all cash while still playing the biggest no limit games money could buy, and living like a rock star. So I'll get to all that, but for now where I'm at...

I've graduated from university in 2010 so nearly two years now and started poker in early in 2005 until my crazy run ended in 2007/08. I took time off from school in and returned in 08/09 and graduated in 2010. I've played off and on, but not seriously with documentation and a true determined focus like I currently have with a burning desire to succeed and top everyone around me. Anyway, I'll get into the details of all that eventually but right now I'm on a 2012 personal goal to get my bankroll to $10,000 to play the next NL game after the 200NL, which is what I'm playing now. Of course after $10,000 I'd like to play in the next level which I believe I must need $40,000 for the next level of 5/10, which I believe is achievable before 2013 if not sooner, but for the sake of good decision making and not accumulating any more pressure than I need to put on myself, I'll leave it at that.

So that is the scope of what I'm looking to do. How will I do? Will I go bust? Will I reach my goal? Well stay tuned and more to come as of now I have $1,000 so I have 5 buy-ins and will try to journal/document most of my play here.

Ok So last night played after work (I work full-time) around 10:30pm and played until 6:15am.

Playing 3/5 blinds $200NL

Played for 7.75 hours.
Bought in 4 times for a total of $800.

Nearly blew my bankroll and it was a tough start, especially since right off the bat from 10:30pm until 12:30am I was +$700 in profit....

Anyway...

I had Jd,Jh on the button and been studying a loose player who's been getting hit with the deck (went from $200 to $800 in less than 45 mins.) but raises to 20 in the CO I want to disguise my hand and flat. It goes three way and flop is 10s,10c,6c. CO bets 40 I flat. 3rd person mucks. Turn is 7c and CO immediately pops in $200 (2 white chips at that) I started the hand with $230 so I had $170 on the turn after all the calls... I studied the history and thought about her plays and it didnt make sense since she would check raise alot before and bet smaller to induce calls, this was opposite... It just didn't seem consistent with her consistent play when he had a hand... I thought about it and called he says nice hand. I was relieved but the river comes Ac and I have two red jacks! He has K,6spades and Jacks hold up!

After the hand I have $454 after the rake and I go on a rush to $900 making good reads and excellent plays until I start calling and missing on straight flush draws 4 way... It put me on tilt... So I am now at $450 before the start of the following hand..

Heres a hand I over played

SB: $600
Me: $450
4 other players

Anyway I was in the button and limp with Q,9 off in a 6 handed pot and small blind raises to $23 with 5 callers including myself.

Flop: Q,6,5.

SB checks I bet $50 and he raises me $100 on top now I normally wouldn't have played this hand this way, but the exact hand before I showed a bluff with 7 high on a K,2,3,Q,2 board and took down a $200 pot. Which makes me believe the SB is going to play back at me alot looser than he would anyone else... Well I guess this was part of me that was still steaming from losing my stack from $900 to $450 and just playing recklessly. After he raised me $100 I three bet All-in and he calls with A,Q. blank, blank on turn and river so he takes it down.

I just play poorly drawing too much and without necessarily correct pot odds.
It's just playing with too much emotion.

Now this is definitely one of my weaknesses in losing, which makes me lose more.

So anyhow I rebuy to my 4th buy in and manage to win back all my money plus $217.

My last hand was Ac,9c on the button three handed with UTG limper and the big blind. I raise to $25

So in the end after all the mistakes and poor decisions I am up

Time= 7.75
Profit=$217

HR=$28/hr

Final Thoughts:

Play more solid and don't tilt, limit buy in to only 1 per session, especially during a bankroll build. Self-Control and discipline are definitely attributes important in this lifestyle. I know that I can beat this game and just build a healthy bankroll, but last night I feel wasteful with my time and energy. I could've left with +$700 only 2-3 hours after I started and I wouldn't feel so tired now... Sigh Actually I'm at work now with 2 hours of sleep totally incompetent and slow. It's not the productive way to go... More to come after my next session so the good news I am in the green to start. BTW I wanted to keep the beef to a minimal so if anyone has any questions on specific hands I played or was involved in please feel free to post and I'll respond. I want to do this lifestyle to live a fun and easier life not harder... So why put the extra pressure on myself?? Build a bankroll and live to play another day. Until next time.
