I'm not sure what the % is exactly, but I think merge bonuses only add a few % to your rakeback.

I have the same problem, such a ****ty spot to try to get money onto bodog when you would have to withdraw most of your merge roll and wait a month or two to get it to redeposit onto bodog to start playing again

yeah idk what the % is but i think im going ot withdraw most of all my roll from merge. maybe leave like $50 to see what i can do with im my spare time but im going to be focusing on school for the month that im waiting for my check.

Wow well this past week has been wonderful, lol I havn't had power since last Saturday night due to Hurricane Irene and started classes all in the same week. Poker wise I have come up with new goals that i will breakdown below. I withdrew my roll from Carbon which was $700 so I won't be grinding hard until October most likely. It will be nice to relax and focus on classes but i will be playing freerolls and still updating here daily.


Current Bankroll : $700
Goal Bankroll : $20k 1 year from now

Now many people will look at $20k and say yeah yeah yeah i read this everyday from every inspiring player but I will justify my goal and have gone in depth to breakdown each level and how much I will need to play to reach this goal.


I am switching from Carbon over to Hero Poker which is also on the Merge network and the reason is, I feel a little better there support wise because the CEO actually personally answers emails and is a very nice guy. He also will be giving me my 35% rakeback deal I now receive on Carbon which will be a huge help. Hero is probably the best site for people without a bankroll because all of the extra freerolls they have for US players. I will be playing alot of these in September to try and build something up for extra cushion when i get my check.


My $20k Goal Breakdown

Starting with $0 on Hero I will be playing these $5 24 man PLO Freeroll SNGs that pay top 4 and run all day, along with the Triumvirate $100 freeroll that runs everynight 10PM EST that pays top 3 $50, $30, $20 and only has about avg of 85 players. And the MTT Hero $99 freeroll that pays top 9 $11 and usually has 100 people in it.
These are pretty nice options to build up a roll so i will see if i can build up $200 in September from these games mixing in some 4NL once i reach $40 and 10NL when i reach $100.

Then check arrives and i deposit $300 which is the max for credit cards and get my $300 deposit bonus.
Roll will be $500 and i will have $400 in my savings for insurance.

Here is where the grind starts:

25NL - $900 Starting Roll

50k hands / 3-4bb/100 / 8k VIP points

Profit Breakdown

3-4bb/100 = $400 - $500
Rakeback = $375 - $425
Bonuses = $105
Tourny Tickets = $95
^ you get tickets every time you level up, 8k points would make me level 110 and would equal to $95 which i can trade in for cash.

Total = $995 - $1125 + $900 = $1895 - $2025
During these 50k hands i will be 4-6 tabling and will complete it in a month, playing around 1.6k hands a day or 3 hours total play.
Also will have a review session at the end of the day everyday going over hands and plugging leaks <-- this is what is holding me back now I don't study enough and I am giong to fix this leak first.

50NL - $1895 - $2025

100k hands / 2.5-3.5bb/100 / 20k+ VIP points <-- havn't calculated just a guess
Profit Breakdown

2.5-3.5bb/100 = $1250 - $1750
Rakeback = $1450 - $1600
Bonuses = $195

Total = $4900 - $5750

Will be withdrawing so I don't have more than $2k online at a time at 50NL

100k hands should take me 2-3 months since i will be 4 tabling starting out to ease into 50NL. Very achievable with focus and precision.

250k hands / 2-2.5bb/100 / 50k+ VIP points

2-2.5bb/100 = $5000 - $6250
Rakeback = $6800 - $7000

Total = $17132 - $19432

Now this is just from calculations but are pretty accurate if I stay on track and achieve my winrates. The whole process should take me about 9-10 months giving myself 2 months of leeway and breaks.
I know this goal can be achieved by anyone who has the drive to succeed, I will be putting in insane hours to study and improve my game.

fyi the freeroll steps on minted poker are pretty good as well, and they run nonstop

Hey everyone, I have kind of neglected this thread for a while. Since my last post I have placed money on Bodog and played for about a week. Didn't have much progress and really didn't find the software or play appealing. I have been really busy lately with a new job I got at a CPA firm that my friends mom is my boss basically its awesome because i have my own cubicle and I sit there and organize the companies tax return files for them and i have dual monitors so i can have 2+2 up on the other monitor reading and studying. Pretty sick imo, plus i get paid $13/h lol. So that has been taking up 25 hours during the week added with school and homework and studying i really havn't had much time to play.

I withdrew the $300 i had on bodog and came up with a few goals I want to accomplish by the end of the year. After reevaluating my life and desires, I want to pursue HU SNG's and HU cash. I have been studying it quite a bit lately and just downloaded like 50 HU videos from DC which i am going to be watching about 2-3 a day and analyzing each to basically set a foundation for my own game. Though currently i am not nearly rolled for HU cash i am going to most likely deposit $300 on Hero and play HU SNG's until i have a nice roll to start 25NL HU.
So by the end of the year i want to have a roll for 25NL and I want to have $5,000 to my name. Either in the bank or in my poker account combined. I calculated from work i will have around $4-4.5k by the end of the year. plus i will be getting $500 for running a half marathon in November. So cutting out personal expenses i need to most likely have about $1.5k in my poker account by the end of the year. Its not a stretch and definitely achievable.

My biggest goal right now though it to keep posting in this blog everyday. No more being lazy

I do have a big question though im torn on who to take in my football pool this week. Dallas or Washington? got all my other picks down just need the monday night game. Washington looks like they can hold their own but if Romo plays im fearful of what he will do after he recovers a bit. Plus they are at home and big rivalry game.

just wanted to ask you about hero poker..right now im playing on minted and the traffic is pretty terrible. how is it on hero for 10nl? and can you use a HEM HUD? also, how easy is it to deposit?

Hero is on the Merge network so right now they arn't accepting new US players but the traffic is ok at 10nl you can always find some action and yes you can use a HUD. the depositing is easy lol i just use my credit card and it works but cashing out is usually a pain lol 4-6 weeks for check unless you decide to pay some a 10-15% vig and cashout through bankwire.

HU is really fun and interesting, hopefully you like it and are successful. I finally got around to subscribing to this thread. Good luck at the tables!

Not much poker to update on today, playing some freerolls tonight and currently running deep in the $100 freeroll for US players on Hero, maybe i can win some $ to play in the meantime until i get my check from bodog.

Also today i have watched 4 videos on DC, 2 HUSNG videos by Bones, and 2 HU cash videos. Taking notes on the videos, and coming up with some good strats. Will be looking into a membership at HUSNG.com.

Other than that my day has been pretty boring, thinking about reading The Mathematics of Poker after this tourny. Hopefully try and learn some new math.

Tomorrow going to see MoneyBall which is gonna be sick, cant wait for that.

Took down the $100 Freeroll outa 85 people

Won $50 and am going to use that to play some HUSNG's and practice my game until i get my roll on here. Hopefully build up some in the mean time and get off to a nice start!

yeah man there aren't any charity rooms around here or casinos haha which is pretty horrible. The only live experience i get right now is with my friends.

I plan on playing a couple $1.5k events. mostly No limit holdem and maybe a HU event. not sure yet depends mainly on what im playing when the time comes. Gonna be looking to play a lot of cash games there too.

I 1 tabled some $6 turbo HUSNGs and went 3-3, but then i won a $6 4man turbo for $24 and then won a $11.50 turbo. I am feeling really good about my play so far. Not to many tough spots yet and pretty bad play by my opponents which is nice.

Just bout a month subscription to HUSNG.com also and will be downloading like every video tomorrow! going to watch 2-3 a day and incorporate new tactics into my game.
