I find it much more useful to review my play hand by hand than worrying about EV, for example, I lost an 800bb pot nutflush vs straightflush, EV line goes down but I think I still played the hand ok.
That's exactly what I ment, TY.

I didn't say it was stupid. EV line may not be totally accurate, but it is much more accurate than green line, to evaluate your play. The spots that you have mentioned, and the other guy, those are minority.

Ev isnt that helpfull. Better to review big pots you lost and won.

Also ev doesnt take into account coolers. For example you open AA, villain 3 bets you all-in except 5 cent. You call, villain flops set. Now the last 5 cents go in, the ev line doesnt move at all.

Yeah, thats what I'm doing at the moment. Sometimes flatting and sometimes 4-betting(Depends on villain). But when I do get raised again, I fold, cause in 5NL you're always up against KK+

Don't have anything on villain, but I'm just scared vs sets I guess...

dont mean to level you or anything but AK has blockers to KK+ but good that your playing the hand different ways ... you kinda make an argument to fold KK to 5bet shove in this spot also because hey if we have KK and a 5bet is always KK+ there most likely hand is AA. On that hand i wouldnt so much be too afraid of sets and KJ but more would just look at it as he will fold many worse hands and only call with better and the few 2p combos we beat so turning it into a calldown is fine.

Gl man...
Like ur plan and goals thus far..just one thing that i read on your "learning process"...
You say "fold AK when face a 5bet shove"..in my opinion this is player dependent and u should DESIDE whether u will 4bet AK as a bluff or for value(call 5betshove) based on the image u have of the player
Will be following keep it up

Absolutely true! I'm gonna change this in the next update, but thats an old sentence from my first update. I used to instant call this all the time, but now I sometimes flat a 4bet, sometimes I fold, and sometimes I shove... Thanks for following!

Update 6:
I played almost 5000 hands since last update, and been running really well.
Really tried focusing on points 5 & 6 on my "Learning process" list, and I think it helped me. Opened my range on CO & BTN and folded some marignal hands in EP and MP. Felt like I played my A-game most of the time. For the last 15K hands, my sessions were max 45min each, with a break of at least 30min. Sometimes even session of 15 minutes if I felt even a little bit off focus (Thinking about other stuff, distaction from anthing else but the tables, etc...)
For those who like to know, my winrate is currently 2.6bb/100,
and the following image represent my current stats:

The Learning Process:
1. Think about what to do with AKs vs 5bet-shove instead of shoving it in.Going great!
2. Check, call or fold sets more on wet boards. Going great!
3. Try to fold Overpairs vs Check-Raise on turn or river. Still can't do it enough.
4. Stop going into tilt mode after losing 2BI in 5min. Going great!
5. Play/Raise less UTG & UTG+1 (Delete 22-66, QKo etc...) Going great!
6. Play/Raise more CO & BTN Going great!

Update 7:
Played 4000 hands since my last update.
At the start of my session past saterday, I had a good test on "Understanding and accepting the reality of poker and variance".
Also a good test of "not tilting when losing 2BI in 5min" as part of my learning process. Immediatly after loosing two hands (under this paragraph), I opened notepad and wrote this as part of me forgetting the cooler
and start again with absolute no more thougths about these hands after a short smoking break. It's not that I'm whining about it, but I want to let you guys know I did a great job of understanding and accepting, and just move along.
It maybe some standard cooler crap, but for me it's still in my learning process. A couple of weeks ago, this would've got me tilted and usually let me move up in stake and lose my BR.
Then I started sundaymorning, which went great for 5 minutes, and after that I played my C-game for like 10 minutes. (Calling of rivers, holding on to pocketpairs, playing from EP with crap, let certain emotions effect my play).
So after a couple of hours I started to play again, and It got better. Sunday and monday were also two normal days.

7. Understand and accept variance. Not bad, nog great!

For those who like to know, I'm currently running 2.99bb/100.

You play poker because it's easier way to make good money than working. But playing sng instead of cash because sng is easier to win at doesn't make sense to you?

      Update 8:
Played 4000 hands since my last update.
      Nothing really interested happened though.
Played solid mostly and did a few small bad rivercalls, and a couple of missed value on river by checking behind.

      The Learning Process:
      1. Think about what to do with AKs vs 5bet-shove instead of shoving it in.Going great!
      2. Check, call or fold sets more on wet boards. Going great!

      8. Valuebet river small, don't check behind too much. Not bad, nog great!

      Update 9:
Played 4000 hands since my last update.
I didn't play much this weekend. Played 8 sessions, with sessionlengths of 2 to 12 minutes. Everytime I started I instantly felt bored, or lost a big pot in the first couple of minutes of a session. The positive thing: I'm starting to make progress in quitting when I need to, so its + for lopping of my C-game. However, I did play C-game in those very short sessions, only for a couple hundred hands, but they did cost me money due to a very short period of time where I did try to chase lost money by playing more hands, and I did call of a couple of rivers with crap. I did manage to get one bigger session in today which went normal.

      7. Understand and accept variance. Can't do this enough. FOCUS FOCUS
      8. Valuebet river small, don't check behind too much. Not bad, nog great!

      Questions:
Does anyone have tips on leakfinding... Where to start?

      Update 10:
Played 6000 hands since last update. Went great!

After my losing sessions from last update, I tried to take a look at my play, and made a couple of adjustments in it. I don't know if that's working or if it's just that I ran seriously great this 6000 hands. I now try to consider 3betting small pp more if I get raised from CO or BTN (Also depends on stats of villain), and I'm even more defending with a wider range from SB or BB. There were also a lot of callingranges in my BvB, but I'm now almost always folding or 3betting. That said, I'm now even more nitty on UTG & UTG+1.

      The Learning Process:
      1. Think about what to do with AKs vs 5bet-shove instead of shoving it in.Learned after 45K hands!
      2. Check, call or fold sets more on wet boards. Going great!
      3. Try to fold Overpairs vs Check-Raise on turn or river. I'm still losing money here....
      4. Stop going into tilt mode after losing 2BI in 5min. Going great!
      5. Play/Raise less UTG & UTG+1 (Delete 22-66, QKo etc...) Learned after 45K hands!
      6. Play/Raise more CO & BTN Going great!
      7. Understand and accept variance.Needs continuous training.
      8. Valuebet river small, don't check behind too much. Not bad, nog great! (Going better)
      9. Defend more BvB Going great!

      Update 11:
Played 4000 hands since last update.
I'm having trouble to maintain my A-game when I loose a 80bb+ pot in the very beginning of a session. I quit, but only if I lose a couple more pots where I let emotions take over my decisions. Also I must have some major leaks. Next couple of days I will only be reviewing my 50k database to look for those leaks and try and come up with a plan to get out of my break-even (maybe losing) game. I thougth my EV will even out by now, but the opposite is true.My EV is terrible -42$(-1.70bb/100) vs $20 (0.80bb/100) profit), so I obviously will find some leaks very fast.

Next couple of days will be all about making a plan and finding leaks. Any help is welcome on where to start. Ask me about stats and I will post.

      1. Think about what to do with AKs vs 5bet-shove instead of shoving it in.Learned after 45K hands!

I play 5nl zoom as my main game.. smth about 2bb/100 after 250k hands of some tilting, not reading etc.. so your thread is a subscribe for me *^▁^*
Try to filter 'facing a raise @ turn ' see the ranges u loosing from and adjust a bet / fold strategy at this situations..As i can tell check/raise turn from the most players on 5nl pool is nuts..

      Last Update:

So I can't do it yet. Took a break for 4 days and started again. Played solid for 15minutes, then I tilted again, and tilted more. Could stop myself after losing 3 buyins and then got sick of it. Got to 30$ HU and played 2 and lost 2. After that, I did $60HU and won. Did another $60 after that and won that also. Big tilt, and accidently won more. I excluded myself from play for 30 days now that my bankroll is $200, and rethink this whole challenge. I might not be able to do this.

I managed myself for a month, which was pretty good for me. Now I need to do it again, but for a very longer period. Anyone got tips for this?
