Hello everyone
My name is Alexander, and I'm an 18 year old guy from Norway. I've been playing poker for fun the last 1 and a half year. Several times I've spun up a bankroll in the 1000-1500$ area by playing MTTs, but everytime I cross the 1000$ mark I kinda start to think I'm the best, and start playing MTT's that costs 20-40$ and bust my roll in no time. This is what happened 2 weeks ago.

But this time I'm doing it right, so I've decided to put 100$ into my stars account, and start grinding SnG's, as I love tournaments, but it's extremely time consuming, and I'm a young athlete that trains very much, so I don't have to sit 8 hours in a stretch in front of the computer.

I have a fair bit experience playing SnG's, but I would not call myself an expert in the area. I will update this thread fairly often, to keep myself motivated. And to keep myself motivated I will have longterm goals and shortterm goals.

Longterm:
- Grind out a big enough bankroll, so I can maybe participate in the Norwegian Poker Championship in 6 months(ish)
- Become a reg in the 7$ SnG by December-January
- Reach my Vip Stellar Reward by 1st January (3850 VPP left ATM)

Shortterm:
- Achieve a respectable ROI in the 3,5$
- Turn my graph upwards again.
- Play atleast 30+ games/day on average

I started this challenge yesterday, and that went fairy good, but today I met a decent downswing, which you'll see on the graph. Basically bubbeled everything as a 4-1 favourite. But thats poker...

These amounts are in NOK, and you need to divide them by 6 to get them to USD

The "official" day 1 is in the books, and can't say it went any better then the last day. Basically 2 outed on every bubble. Didn't get to put in any volume today, as friday and sunday are my traveling days, since I study (and live) 1 and 1/2 half hour away from my home.
Feel like my game is improving, but need to study even more ICM.

Hello again Didn't play any online poker saturday, but today I was back at it. Seems like my downswing continues...
Pretty devastating to start a downswing just as I started this thread, but I'll try to fight it through. My bankroll is currently at 88$, but if I continue to play like I do, I feel like it will soon enough turn around.

GL with your sit and go grind OP. I have grinded sng for many years myself, but now i primarly plays live poker. I played mainly 9 man and 18 man turbos when i grinded these at the hardest.

Todays level of play in sngs are very high, even at low buyins, so you probably need to be willing putting in alot of work to be succesfull.

Like Gilmour said, the standard in $7 non-turbo SNGs (one or two tables) is much higher than one might expect. Are you playing turbo or non-turbo? And how many tables at once?

Best of luck with your challenge; I'll keep an eye out for you at the tables.

Thanks for the good lucks I know the SnG level has become much higher the last few years, but I'm extremely motivated to do well in these, so I'm ready to put alot of hours and work into it. Also I play the 3.5$turbo SnG's.

Today was yet another bad days followed by coolers and suckouts.
I was experimenting with 10tables at once, but feel like i made to many mistakes, so I'm dropping down to 6 for the time being.

I also noticed one other leak i have. I lose way to many HU's. I have twice as many 2. as 1. So do you guys have any tips for vids or books for HU play? I have the HU No limit Hold'em by Colin Moshman, but have only read parts of it, so is it worth reading it for SnG play?

Yesterday was another fairly bad day, results wise. Felt like i played very well the whole day, except the last set of tables i played. As tilt started to take over due to the bad run of cards I'm experiencing.

Just got to keep grinding through it.
I can also just redeposit money, as I have enough money for the real world, since I now clearly see that I'm running bad and not playing bad.

I am now busto online, as the downswing did not end. Today was a day basically filled with coolers. Everytime we were like 5 handed, and i had 5-10bb, picked up a mid pocketpair and shoved. And so and say everytime someone waked up with a bigger pocket pair.
I was fairly tilted at the time, so I decided to join a cash game at tilt with a childhood friend of mine with my last 15$. These hands kinda sum up how I've been running previously.

The wierd betsizing on the turn is also a history thing.

This is the graph of my short SnG journey. The bad running got more and more to me, even tho the last day was more coolers then tilt.
