Right, let's try and cut this long story into a short one...

I've been around poker for many many years now, never really taking it seriously. I've done well in live games (relatively speaking) - never tracked the results though. Online... well, a completely different story.

I've recently discovered the great game of PLO, which I'm completely new to. Started messing around with it, and what ever bankroll I've had got pretty much crushed.

*side note* All the responsibility for this attempt, successful or otherwise, fall to Travbana and his separate thread on taking over the world*

Hence the title... I shall take a fish as myself, drop it into the pool of micro stake PLO, and hope that a shark comes out in an uncertain amount of time! Could be a whale though, who knows

I'm a retired online NL cash player now working full time. I also embraced the uplifting/soul crushing fun that is PLO and trying to find an hour or two a day to play. Started with €50, will see if I'm able to turn it into smth resembling a bankroll.

Right, here we are... Played a fair bit - no, let me rephrase that

I was doing this 'grinding' that everyone is doing! Played like a ton of hands. Way to many. Had 4 zoom tables running at one point!

Let's start with the positives - the promotion/rakeback is coming along nicely, and I'm actually way ahead if I consider these

Literally the only thing I can be positive about is the fact that I've caught up with EV.

8k hands and I'm 3BI down - life can be cruel. A more professional assessment would be - I'm really struggling with my mental game. It feels like I'm just pressing buttons a lot of the time, which is really costing me in 'marginal' situations. Additionally - I've got this Hold'em thing where if I've got a boat - I'm getting it in! It is not a good idea.

Feels like I need a bit of structure to the game - no end of times I'll stack off knowing fine well I'm behind (I get the confirmation often enough!)

I've also quite fond of bluffing OOP - that needs to change

Anyway, rant over - onwards and upwards. Plan going forward - try and keep the volume high for the week (for rakeback/bonus purposes), need to buy a tracker for Omaha

Long term... knock the tables down, slow the **** down and think things through! I will hate it, but if thats what it takes to starting beating the game - that needs to be done

Graphs a bit up-and-down but what ever, I've set out to get a decent amount of hands in and I've done it

Made some stooped plays along the way, but most of them worked out

As anyone with half a brain can see I got completely run-over due to over-folding. I am aware, I'm just trying a few things out

I think we´ve played in the same games on Party, which, even at nano stakes, is the worst "reg" fest I´ve ever seen. I´m struggling to adapt to this environment as well and actually losing at micro stakes PLO myself and I don´t think newbies have any chance of winning there, especially in "fast forward".

Some thoughts:

Pre-flop seems ok, but I would probably reraise heads-up in position. Flop seems ok.

Turn is at least 7 out of 10 (10 being the worst). I think you have to make up your mind as to whether you want to continue with your hand and this is a raise or fold given that you don´t have any redraws at all and you don´t want villain to draw for free. Folding seems tight, but okayish, but raising is mandatory if you want to continue. Calling has the advantage that you might represent a draw and bluff some rivers, but bluffing is a rather bad idea at PLO2.

River is 10 out of 10 vs unknown. This might be less bad if you´re dealing with an absolute maniac whom you´ve seen make huge bluffs with missed draws before.

That said, not sure what villain is doing on the river. You have to call very thinly for this to be a value bet and he doesn´t win anything by betting if you hit the river. I guess he didn´t want to call off full pot on the river and this is actually a mixture between value and blocker bet?

Never mind, 1) I was being too harsh here, 2) I don´t have a clue anyway.

PLO10-25 seems okay though, it's just the micro stakes that are ridiculous from what I've seen. what do I know to be fair...

Thanks for the feedback. My thoughts on it are very similar - looking at the replay he pretty much played his hand face up - and still got paid. I should go to poker hell

Re: "regs" in "Fast forward" on Party, here´s a hand I just played in this game:

It folds to me in the small blind, I raise pot with AQJ9ddd, BB calls, flop comes KT8dd, so I have basically the nuts (favourite against top set with no redraws, I think). I lead out pot, BB calls. Turn comes a brick. I pot again, BB call. River comes the King of spades, I don´t have the balls to bluff so I check and BB checks behind. He shows TTxx.

You might as well play against bots. I guess they would do just what BB did on every street.

I guess I should have potted again, given that he basically never plays top two that way AND is nitty enough to fold an underfull?

If you play mostly or only on PS, i would recommend to not play PLO10. I play mostly 6+ cash, where the rake is even worse, and only play 2$ and 5$ tables, and 25$ when my roll is big enough again. At 10$ tables, the rake is by far the worst.

Also might help if you post some stats. I think roundabout 35/20/8 is reasonable for micro PLO. Maybe you wanna watch some JNandez PLO videos on youtube. He is a very solid player beating 500$ Zoom, giving good advice on how to play TAG in PLO, in general.

When all draws miss turn and river, and you've been the aggressor, you can bet as low as 33-50% pot on the river, and still make all his missed draws fold (you block all nutted draws in this hand, though! Not wrong to check, but I think 33% pot bet otr is still profitable), while looking stronger than with a pot-bet there. Bad fulls call anyway, in my experience.

Hit both goals, which obviously makes me happy. Could I have done better... Yes, this mass multi tabling still isn't second nature and I'm sure I'm missing some opportunities along the way. The positive side - I've only had 2 moments where I thought... should I shove and/or call here?

Called/shoved both. One was a flip that I've lost, the other one... well, I just lost lol

Both of them happened towards the end of the session - maybe I just got tired
