To learn midstacking and get coaching.

First session at iPoker was a disaster, ran into AA AIPF 3 times and got stacked by quads twice and down 6bi. The game is really soft though, there are lots of short stacks who never fold preflop and most of the regs seem really nitty.

I also wasn't used to the software and misclicked a few times, sometimes when you click the bet sizing bar it goes back to a minbet and I did that a few times, and once I typed in a big bet sizing and another table took focus so I accidentally made a huge overbet with air, got called and lost half my stack. I guess it's all stuff that shouldn't happen if I double check my bet sizing which I should be doing anyways.

Hand 175: This is kind of a weird hand, I don't think I can fold because if he can have a full house with 8x he can have weaker trips, and if he doesn't have those he has 4 combos that beat me so he barely needs to bluff.

pitabread189, I'm at 20nl because I went on a big downswing in January and I haven't really won a lot since then.

Yeah checking back vs the 58/11 is really bad, I need to pay more attention. I think I could bet 25bb for value.

I'm still going to play iPoker, I think it's softer and my rakeback is higher than my winrate at Stars but it's a lot harder to play, there's so much more stuff to think about in the super aggressive game and I just didn't feel up to it today.

3 months of midstacking, I've learned that the EV gods hate people who don't buy in full. Where are the 65bb tables?

Thanks Rosh. But it's so profitable for me when I don't spew off my stack with top pair and so profitable for you when I do. Win win imo.

I've been on a bus all afternoon to go hang out in Waterloo so I haven't played many hands today. I feel focused but my arm and neck are sore from sleeping on the bus so I'm not sure if I'm going to play yet.

I tried different stuff for a while and then compared them in my database.

No way could you have big enough sample sizes just by 'trying stuff' for a while. Also I'm guessing you're just looking at individual results, which is obviously the wrong way to go about it.

Of course I don't have a big enough sample to say I'm completely sure that something is profitable but I have reasoning for why it could be which is why I started doing it and up to a few thousand hands with certain hand types where it's been successful so I don't really have a reason to stop doing it at this point.

I'm not completely sure what you mean by individual results, could you explain that?

I mean that you should be looking at the ev of your overall strategy, not individual hands.
