Sup guys!

I'm 18 years old 12th grade student who can't figure out what to do in his future. I mean I can't figure out what I wan't to be.
I'd like to play poker for living, as pretty much all of us want to. But to do that I wan't to be super confident about my game.

So here it is. I'm gonna:
1)try to make 10k till July 1st.
2)If I succeed I won't apply to any collage or anything. I will play poker from 2012 July 1st to 2013 July 1st and try to make 50k+. If I won't I'll have to get in a collage.

Goals:
10k by July 1st
Study the game hard in my spare time
Keep volume as high as I can. I'd like to play at least 40k+ a month.

Here's a link from my previous challenge. That's done. Completed it in 1.5 months. Wanted to finish by January but I'm too good I guess

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/17...onths-1113284/

And graph so far:

nl4 13.7 bb/100 17.3k hands
nl10 14.03 bb/100 12.3k hands
nl20 7bb/100 15k hands
nl30 - just took a shot at it. -2bi

GOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOOOO!

Nice. Good luck. Nice results but still a fairly small sample. I wouldn't make my mind up about turning poker into a fulltime profession yet. You're young, plenty of time to decide what you want to do.

This is not all. I have like 200k more hands on my older account where I was mostly studying the game. Together I'm up 1.5k
But yeah. That's what I mean. I don't know what I wan't to be. Let's see what will happen

Well I'm not saying I'm quitting school. I'll still be learning but i'll also play. Poker kinda seems like perfect job. No set in stone hours, awesome profit if you're good enough. I mean this all is just a small dream that I hope to fill

My alltime graph.
Only last 50k hands I play seriously. Anything older was just studying the game, getting coaching and stuff.. + when I started playing I was completely new to poker.

First 120k hands are just nl2,5
Than i was fighting nl10 till about 200k
Than I got coaching that boosted my game up dor 500 % (Special thanks to that person btw)
And after 200k I'm easily beating games (nl4 than nl10, now NL20/30 as described in 1st post)

Now I easily beat nl20/30

GL with your challenge. But I think even if you will be a decent winning mid stakes reg I would not take a year off just study at uni and play.

Hopefully I can give you some good advice here..

I was in the exact same boat as you, coming out of 12th grade, although I was still 17, I was winning at online poker, I had spent much of my senior year of high school studying the
game. I knew i didn't want to work a 9-5, I still don't, but I also understood how important going to college is. Especially with the state of the game right now. If the games were still like they were in '06 id say hell yeah, wait to go to college and try to make a run at it. but they're not. I got lucky and got a scholarship to a good college in a good program. I'm currently in my first semester as a college student, I don't necessarily like it, but it's important to have a degree. And honestly it's not hard to get good grades and balance a good poker schedule. I've made mid-four figures since classes started while maintaining a 3.75gpa.

My advice would be to go to college, play poker on the side, graduate with a degree, then make a run at it if that's still want you to to do, that's my plan at least. Hope I helped..

I have to agree that degree is important.
What I'm saying is that if I find something I enjoy doing, I'll study 100%. But now I can't find one suitable profession. I wan't to do something I love and enjoy.

Had an awesome day today. Was planning on playing like 1.5k hands but I have to do some homework and stuff like that. Maybe I'll play later today, but for now:

Right now Is like the perfect time to be in school. The job market sucks and so does the poker world. Yet in 4 years time, hopefully both these things will be on the up and up.

Seriously OP, consider going to school. You can play poker on the side, plus party, drink, **** bitches, and get an expensive piece of
Paper with your name on it

1.5k hands 2day. Wanted it to be 2k but couldn't concentrate anymore so..

And a hand...

limp/minr is usually KK AA but with the line and sizing he took on all streets I just didn't see decent value in his holding.. Actually did put him on AK when he checked flop.
Don't know if I should have bet flop..

To everyone saying go to school; look, I took two years off after HS and it was probably the best idea I could have had. Don't go to school if you're not willing to put in the time.

That having been said, the first two years of school (at least in a bach of commerce) are stupid easy. I mean, you can literally just go to the lectures, do almost no reading or studying, and roll faces. And doing general studies and then x/fering those classes to whatever degree you eventually choose is easy to do.

Plus there's girls. <---- Best reason to go imo.
