And how do you think you'll fare at the tables with this challenge? Don't have to worry about giving info, but also can't fish for info either. Should be interesting, and probably beneficial no matter how long it lasts. Good luck.

If you are looking for action on the silence challenge I bet $100.00 you can't.

It's just to hard with kids not to speak, laugh etc...

I think if you are looking for something to open up your awareness, or find some zen, you should check out the 'Louisville Community of Mindful Living'. They have a Sunday practice every week which is open to sit-in on. I believe it is donation based. There is no judgement at all, and it's a pretty cool experience. My wife does therapy and we went to a Sunday practice as part of here school load.

It's definitely something different, but very relaxed and open atmosphere, check it out here: http://sanghalou.org/sunday-practice.html

you're right. It's gonna b tough w the kiddos, esp the 5 yr old. The 12yr old has some understanding of my challenge, but the 5yr old may has not a clue. I can see her now yelling in my face until i respond to her. Oh boy, oh boy, what hv i done?
my betting guidelines were discussed on post #3537...I'll take wagers if anyone wants to bet against me. I'm a huge dog, so need odds, but I'm willing to bet a min of $500 up to $2500. Also both parties place money upfront in escrow w someone trustworthy.

Another gd point! My plan is to only gonna talk if it's emergency.
I'm clearly not saying i will b able to accomplish this challenge, for im sure i will face daily obstacles. The deck is stacked heavily against me, but I will try my hardest to give it my best effort.
If i can stay away from emergency situations like the one u suggested, and if i can go a month without getting any calls from my tenants that wd b helpful.

tbh, @twspoker1 i'm not sure what will come of this "No Talk March". I have a scary feeling instead of spiritual awakening coming from this, it cd have an opposite effect of something bad. I might lose my mind, and just go mad in the head. Not sure, it's one of the reasons i want to try it.
I haven't clicked on the link u sent yet, but will check it out later. thanks for looking out.

Today I left early from HSI just because that place sometimes tilts me. It's weird, it's never the players, or the hands that tilt me; it's the floor and the poker room in general. But, u know what? I'll keep showing up, and they know that. I don't have an option unless i want to drive 3.5hr rountrip everyday to Cincy.
So what was it today?
Here it is...
I put up a little gripe today, so wd u please tell me if I wrong? I hv been wrong before, so tell me what u think?

The promo for Tues/Wed says, "2 randomly selected tables will b splashed each hour". See it for yourself below...

Table 6 was active during the 11a hour AND was second of ONLY 2 tables running, YET didn't receive a splash.
What happened to 2 tables splashed each hour like the promo says?
The reasoning I got from Jimmy and Floor was they already splashed one table at 11a, so they are not doing another splash. Really? Why not?
So since u splashed one (not 2) already, then u can't splash the second? Where does it say that? What I read in the promo clearly says 2 tables each hour.
I'm just wanting the opportunity to win some of the thousands of dollars I put into the $1 promo drop.

^ Thanks. Mayb I shdnt let stuff like this bother me, and perhaps this is where the "No Talk March" may help.
I just didn't feel like playing after I spoke up for what I thought was right. I wasn't for sure if I wd hv my A game or not, so I thought it was best to leave. A big rule for me is to NEVER PLAY WHEN TILTED.

I mean it clearly states that from 11 AM until midnight on Tuesday & Wednesday's we will splash 2 NL tables each hour. So if there were 2 NL tables running, after 11 AM, which you verified there were, then they should splash both.

Today:
Got my fifth winning day in a row. Finally a decent score of +641 playing in a deep 1/2...prolly 7,000 on the table. I actually turned down the two 1/2/ms games because both of those tables combine didn't add up to the chips on the normal 1/2. Plus, it wasn't like players weren't straddling on the normal 1/2. Like I always, I'm looking for the 1/2 game that has the deepest stacks.
Eventually though our table broke. Some of those all nighters finally decided to go home and go to bed. 5 players got up wishing 30 mins and table finally broke at 3:30p. 3 of us were left, so they filled us into the empty seats at the other 1/2 tables.
I just decided to call it a day, and take my winnings w me.

Btw, start popping that stuff.

Hey Ray,
I think that possibly you may miss what you are looking for from your silence challenge as you are still going to have to much interaction with people....all be it one way....im sure there will still be value in it though
and sure hope you continue with it....I certainly wont be betting against you.

Good luck

You ever consider a two week silent meditation retreat? There are many options for them in the US. Just you and your mind for two weeks.

That's what's going to make it tough! I not waking alone on some desolate road detached from interaction. I'm attempting this challenge by not changing my any of daily routine.

I guess I'll over bet and make it 3 blacks and they can decide if I'm bluffing or have it.

Today:

6th winning day in a row. +$287 on 1/2 on 2hrs 2mins and +$185 on 1/2/5 on 1hr 5mins. I got there a little later than normal and had to leave earlier than my liking. Had to take my daughter to her Thurs 4p gymnastics class.

What's funny is I snap called a river shove today after backdooring a 10 hi flush. I mean snap called, but
I checked/called the preflop raisers V bets on all 3 streets. When that river came I thought I was Goldie Bear, and decided to do the ole crafty river check/raise. If I didn't think he was betting the river, I wd hv lead out. I read him as strong the whole way by his bet sizing, and checked when I binked the backdoor flush...thought I had him.
Board was A94 rainbow, 7c, 5,c.
I check river, he had shoved his last $220. I quickly snapped and oops

AK>910

#gettingthereanddrawingdead.
That was within the first 30 mins of 1/2/5ms and all my earlier 1/2nl profits of the day vanished.
THEN 30 MINS LATER...
I 3bet the most active player at the table w AA, he 4 bets, and I 5 bet shove $500. He calls and never showed. AA good, and my profits returned back home.
+$472 overall.

sprinkle some salt and cheese powder on that stuff

Saw a lot 2+2ers tonight!
Sat to the right of @commentator on 1/2/5nl where he seemed to b winning every other hand. Then I saw @fluke22 and @liveaction (or @liveactionpro, the HSI one) grinding away on on a different table. @ LiveActionP was actually sitting to the right of another 2+2er, hello7027, on the 1/2 game. Then I sat to the left of @hello7027 when we both went to the 2/5/10nl game. Behind me was @loucardfan I'm sure crushing souls on 2/5/10 half and half.
Rip @emptinpockets, wish u was there buddy.

played 1/2/5nl +$667 4hrs 5 mins. Steadily just cruised my way up. No big pots or anything, but many decent pots.
Played 2/5/10nl -$26 after 45mins, and left because the line up was crap. The crap consisted of 7 winning players, 1 break even player, and 1 gd spot that we are all fighting over. #nothanks
Shd hv stayed on 1/2/ms.
Nonetheless, 7 winning days in a row.

After I decided to leave the 2/5/10 game, I got s text from my gf Saying I shd come home and watch this Reverant movie w her. *She got it from a friend at work who had it on a bootleg dvd.

Getting ready to pop the popcorn for this long flick.

Also before I forget, I got busted tonight by the sec guards about taking videos. Next time I will b banned.

Gd luck 2+2ers!

This might hv been discussed once before in this thread. Not sure.

Last night on the 1/2/5nl table I saw 2 players get it aipf w
AK vs 99. They both had around $350, so the pot totaled $700ish.

Both hands were tabled, and the board ran out something like 483102

The dealer quickly mucks the AK not knowing he had a flush. Even more, the player holding AK didn't realize it either, and told the other guy nice hand before he reloaded another $500.

I think only me and another person on my left saw the mistake, but didn't speak up. After talking w some players about this, a few hv said its your choice to speak up, and others suggested I shd hv. One guy actually showed me on Twitter that some poker rooms hv this in the rule: "ALL players need to speak up if see an error at the table". I seriously doubt this is in HSI rule book, so I don't think I broke any rules.

I do like seeing a pot go to the winning player, but I also hate to interfere when it doesn't involve me. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO MONEY.

I don't think this has ever came up in the past where there was an error and someone didn't say anything. I hv seen many errors and someone always have spoken up.
When this type of stuff happens, I will just wait for other players at the table to speak up instead of me getting directly involved. My rule has always been: "not to mess with other people's money on or off the felt when it doesn't involve me". On the flip tho, I do like protecting the integrity of the game, and keeping it at its highest standard.
It was a tough spot for me last night when I saw the pot pushed to the guy on my immediate right...the guy I hv been having nice convo with all sesh...wonder if he knew???

The AK hand is mainly responsible for his hand, and ultimately his mistake.

Most of all, I rather see the fish win the hand instead of the young gunner who the pot was incorrectly rewarded to. So I guess it does kind of affect me after all. I can get those chips ($700) easier from the fish than the young gunner.

In hindsight, I think I shd hv spoke up. Still hv mixed emotions tho.

Anyways #midwestpremeir

70d and tennis today. On the count of 3, let's say, "Do Work!" Ready?
"1,2,3. DO WORK". shd hv known.

AK guy tabled his hand so the cards speak... I would have spoken up. You are not speaking up to help out a player, you're speaking to correct a dealer not doing his/her job.

If AK did not table or only showed privately to you and mucked, you are under no obligation to do anything.

Also if you're going to do this you have to be fair to everyone, young gunner or fish alike.
