Texas doesn't have its own team. Most Texans choose to support either Mexico or the US. I choose to support Germany. It's not like I just jumped on their bandwagon. I've supported them since the 1990s.

In general (depending on the villains) i prefer a small bet on the flop (albeit a case for checking it can be made). Not a fan of checking it twice. It certainly worked out this time. Really don't like button's check on the flop. CO's 3-bet on the paired board is just horrible.

I thought the posts on starting salary, work requirements, etc. were pretty innocuous. But if the mods and/or Duke are offended by them I guess that kind of discussion is not allowed in Poker Goals and Challenges. So won't be back with any more comments.

Plenty of sites you can visit on the internet where you can view dick waving.

Pretty sure you have most of them bookmarked.

I don't think this is true actually, we've talked about a wide wide range of topics ITT. Just some common sense should be used; when the discussion is no longer productive or helpful and is mostly dick waving/pointless debating, then it probably should be stopped.

Duke I think you should go back to your old avatar, unless you've decided to completely change. Its like your friend whos always had a full head of hair that just shows up with a shaved head one day

On my way back from San Antonio... Probably no session tonight, but back to the grind on Monday.

Had a fun weekend here in the deep south; if online poker ever came back and I was able to beat it for a living, San Antonio is definitely a city I'd consider living in.

Got super drunk and high like every day this weekend so I'm feeling like **** right now.

Ended up having this conversation with a man who introduced himself as "A.sshole Joe" in a super redneck/Texasy bar:

AJ: Where you from?

Duke: Dallas.

AJ: But where is your heritage?

Duke: Dallas. My parents are from Dallas. My grandparents are from Dallas. My great grandparents are from Dallas.

AJ: (thinks for a while, is unsure how to ask what he wants to ask... Then he just asks...) "Where'd you get your color from?"

Duke: Venezuela. Riva Chavez!

Then we drink as the Texan and I raise our glass in honor of Hugo Chavez.

Then I did karaoke to a song and musician I had never heard of before coming to Texas. "I've Got Friends in Low Places" by Garth Brooks.

Afterwards I went outside to light up a bowl and some girl told me I butchered that song so hard. Lol its hard when you've never heard the song before!

Ok time to take off, I'll post the video of me doing karaoke later. I'm drunk as **** in the video, its kind of funny.

And no, P4MS, that doesn't mean I'm going to let you post the Vegas videos.

flying sucks

Landed in Orlando... flight to Philly is delayed 1.5 hours... I was tempted to just take the train to Tampa and play at the Seminole Hard Rock but didn't feel like staying in a hostel.

Not necessarily to avoid the flight but for fun and adventure. But I really don't feel like sharing a bathroom, taking the bus every where, etc etc kind of losing my love for a hippie adventure. I would do it if I had a car here, though.

Orlando airport is beautiful, though. But the song "Pumped Up Kicks" just played over the speaker for like 20 seconds... There are kids here! Wtf

Going to read either War of the Worlds or The King in Yellow on the flight home. Slacking so hard on the Alchemist and Motorcycle Maintenance, though. I just can't really get in the mood to read unless there's nothing else to do.

Crazy. Garth Brooks is the 3rd best selling musical artist of all time in the US behind only The Beatles and Elvis Presley.

As for San Antonio, it's a great tourist destination but it's really nothing special in regards to being a place to live. If you were to visit Austin, you would never consider living in San Antonio.

p.s. Texas is not in the Deep South.

p.p.s. San Antonio is DEFINITELY not in the Deep South.

Wow can you be any more of a Debbie Downer? You bring only sadness into my life just so you know

I thought San Antonio was a really special place and I liked it a lot.

Also the bar and my friends house is in Rio Medina, not in San Antonio... And it did seem very much deep southy
