Nice shot Duke. I dont think theres anything wrong with trying to push yourself to the limit, and to put a prop behind it to force yourself to stick with it. You did what you could and that was impressive. Hopefully you arent too sick of poker now.

I know the one shot i took at going pro i just got tired of the grind after a week of 8 hour days. I can only imagine what you went through.

I cannot stop laughing. Maybe the funniest thing I've ever read on the Interwebs.

Great job pushing the limits, and an even better job being man enough to admit that you reached them.

I'm glad you realized you needed to stop.

Next time set a realistic goal and work hard to get there then the next month make it a little harder.

You still have some pretty big leaks if you think me commenting on your spew hand histories was hating.

I'm not sure what I have ever done to you to constitute you being a huge douche towards me, but I really do want to know why were you so nice to me when we met in Vegas in real life but have always been so mean to me on twoplustwo? Are you one of those internet tuff guys?

Anyway, thanks again to everyone who railed. Sorry Crozbee that I couldn't pull it out for you.

I'm going to take the weekend off, drive down to Winstar, and start grinding some 2/5 next week.
Your grew your roll by $5k or $3k? If you are saying by $5k you aren't being honest with yourself as you have to pay off your bets.
And yes, it was stupid because you put in all of that time, hurt your body and then had to give up some of your profit. Due to a bet. A bad one that many advised you not to make.

Instead, you could have done super volume this month, made no bet, and kept all of the profit. Which one looks like the better move?

The thing is your lack of maturity has you thinking it is the moronic cheerleaders in this thread saying #TeamDuke are your friends when you have others who do want to see you succeed and won't stay silent when you are doing something stupid. But you end up high-fiving the idiots and calling the rest of us haters and other such silliness just because we are honest.

duke - obv take a few days...but it sounds like serious dehydration my man. Please be sure and drink plenty o water the next couple of days and do some very low impact exersize (swimming short walks...etc) I have to assume for the past 3 weeks you did zero. Point is to get your body in motion while you recover from what you did to it during this challengev(but not hammer it...you need to rebuild slowly)

nice job on bagging the 5k!!

This is as close to a win as you could have had in such a bad prop bet for yourself. Glad you made something out of the month and that you learned a few things. Hopefully you learn how to not be such a prop bet fish in the future.

Man, I would've paid to see those final few hours at Sands. I'm picturing a semi-coherent, half crazy, zombie like, angry slow rolling state of you and it has me laughing my ass off. Think we could have all gotten a good laugh out of that knowing what you put yourself through.

Best of luck and get some rest.

Along with Squid's advice on hydrating, I would also recommend dosing up on some Vitamin C. Your immune system is likely weakened at the moment and could use all the help it can get.

Duke im glad you have finally realized there are more important things than silly prop bets and put your health first. Afaik poker players dont get sick leave pay!

Also consider yourself very, very lucky that you have ran extremely good, because you made 5k without playing your A or even B game half of the time (according to you - which is cool that it's something you are honest about). It couldve ended in a disaster.

Like I said, it's the one right before your concession post.

Because given how much we already spoke about it privately, I deleted it like 2 minutes after I posted it, but apparently All-inMcLovin insta-quoted it for posterity.

I think Duke does/says some incredibly ******ed **** but this bet was prob not in the top 10. I mean I think he took the bad end of the gamble and generally think the prop was poorly thought out and pointless but I don't think its that big of a deal. He's young with little responsibility so it probably seemed like it would suck for a month then he'd get some extra cash so whatever.

At least he realized his body was telling him to quit and he did.

Good job Duke. I was rooting for you, but nice to see that you still made a tidy profit and learned some things, despite losing the prop.
